1. Video Delivery Performance

Swamiji TV works hard to enable smooth and fast video delivery around the world. Both live and VOD content has been tested to start in less than one second in most countries within Europe. Video performance is comparable or better than YouTube within Europe and maintains a consistent 24/7 delivery capacity. Acceptable performance levels have also been reported for India, USA and Australia. You should be able to access live or VOD content at any time of the day in Full HD with minimum buffering times in all countries around the world.

a) Known Issues

There can be specific internet providers which locally within the country or city are consistently not able to deliver our content. Only one known such case was reported to be www.magenta.at from Austria. If you experience persistent issues with your provider, please contact us.

2. Computers ‐ Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, Linux

a) Microsoft Windows

To play video on desktop computers or laptops, use the latest version of Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox. For now, subtitles are only available during live webcasts.

b) Apple macOS

On macOS, Safari will use the native player, but other browsers will use the Swamiji TV player.

c) Linux

Both Firefox and Chrome should work fine.

3. Mobile Devices ‐ Google Android, Apple iOS

Please install the Swamiji TV app from the corresponding app store for Android or Apple iOS devices. The website with video has also been tested to work on iPhone, iPad and Android browsers.

a) Android TV

The Android app for Swamiji TV can be used on any Android device, including Android TV Box or stick.

4. Home TV

If you don't own a smart TV yet, use an Android device which connects to your HD TV via HDMI (stick or cable). On this device you can install the Swamiji TV app for Android.

a) Apple AirPlay

When using Apple devices with Safari, AirPlay is available for streaming to compatible TVs and devices.

b) Chromecast

Chromecast support is available for users of Chrome browser for VOD content.

c) Samsung Smart TVs

Simply browse with the built-in web browser to the www.swamiji.tv website.

5. Recommended Internet Speed

For optimal viewing experience, we recommend the following minimum internet speeds:

  • SD (480p): 3 Mbps
  • HD (720p): 5 Mbps
  • Full HD (1080p): 10 Mbps

If you experience buffering, your actual available bandwidth may be much lower than your plan speed, when using WiFi.

6. Video Quality

Swamiji TV streams in Full HD (1080p) resolution. The player automatically adjusts quality based on your internet connection to ensure smooth playback.

a) Automatic Quality

By default, the player selects the best quality your connection can handle. If your bandwidth fluctuates, the quality will adjust automatically.

b) Manual Selection

You can manually select a specific quality level using the settings icon (gear) in the player controls. This is useful if you prefer a consistent quality or want to reduce data usage.

7. Subtitles

Swamiji TV offers subtitles in multiple languages to make content accessible worldwide. Click the subtitles icon (CC) in the player controls to select your preferred language. Your preference will be remembered for future videos. Live webcasts include real-time subtitles. For VOD content, subtitles are being progressively added to the archive.

8. Data Usage

Approximate data consumption per hour of streaming:

  • SD (480p): ~0.7 GB/hour
  • HD (720p): ~1.5 GB/hour
  • Full HD (1080p): ~3 GB/hour

Mobile users with limited data plans may want to select a lower quality manually or download content via WiFi when using the mobile app.
