Healing powers within the body

The body possesses innate healing energy through immunity and chakra points connected to nerves. Activate this energy by massaging with pure oils and brushing the skin to stimulate chakras. For direct healing, awaken the energy in your palms through specific hand positions and willpower, then apply them to areas of pain. This power requires conscious activation and withdrawal.

The Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra is the seat of the subconscious, storing life impressions and negative qualities like anger and jealousy. Its awakening brings clarity but requires purifying these emotions first. The chakra's element is water, symbolizing hidden power and danger. Its divinity is linked to creation and wisdom. The cobra posture influences this center, helping control and awaken its positive qualities.

"Emotion is ego. Ego is also emotion."

Everyone can have their own healing energy and capacity for self-healing. This morning, we shall exercise a little on how to gain and improve the healing powers in the body. First, the body itself has a healing power. The body digests everything, which we call immunity. This immunity is a healing power. Besides this immunity, there is some energy in the chakras. The chakras are not only located at the spinal column as major chakras; they are everywhere in the body. These chakras connect to acupuncture points, the reflex zones. When there is no reflex zone—just somewhere on the flesh or bone—on the screen, the needle will not go. As soon as you find the reflex zone, immediately the needle goes. You know this, yes? If you don’t know, then he or she will show you where it is. These are all actual points, what we call in yoga, chakra energy. These energy centers are the nerves, and the nerves have different functions. Take a nerve in the form of the letter Y. Purījī, Purījī... Śrī Śrī... If you go to take water on your body, it would be very good if you gently rub your body. Āyurveda in India, now people are doing, most before bath, they take massage themselves with oil. Especially they take what they call the mustard oil, pure mustard. Now, here, all this oil, spices, oil—what you are getting—you don’t know if it’s mustard oil, or cotton oil, or peanut oil, or olive oil, because it’s so overheated. And there is no taste. You take the pure olive oil which is not heated, just a little on your hand or little finger, it has even a smell, deeply. Or you take sesame oil, just very nice cold-pressed sesame oil or tahini; take the oil from tahini. And when you put this oil on your salad, that is the most fantastic salad. Never eat salad without oil drops on it, otherwise you lose the vitamins. We are not coming to the heating point. Similarly, when you take the oil, it is called abhyaṅga in Āyurveda, self-abhyaṅga. Self-abhyaṅga is that you do it yourself, and so, or mala, impurities, or there is another word for that also, that is all that goes on. Wash yourself with the soap or whatever you use at night, but you should do everyday self abhyaṅga. Many people do brushing of the body, and that is circulation, very good circulation. Brushing the body means again activating the chakras in them. So don’t just stand under the water and do a little soap like this and clean it. Don’t, how to say, dry your body with a towel like this. This is also yoga exercise, you know. This is an exercise. You come out from the bathroom full of energy. So these chakras are active, and we can activate them. We will now activate our hands. This is for giving healing energy. Ashtiyan, we did also many times. We did many, as many of you know, and many of you don’t know. So, those who don’t know will know. Then, sit straight. This I can tell you is a most valuable thing in your life, what you can get, and you can help many people. Help yourself. When you have a cramp in the stomach, then you make this technique that I am telling, and you put your both hands immediately on the cramp. Here you have strong pain in the kidneys, or here like this. You put these hands like this, or on your shoulders, eyes. There are many, many ways. Or for others, it’s like this. Fingers not like that. Touch your elbows to the hands, close. Feel a sensation in your... head, because it is circulation, blood circulation. There is nothing special that we will feel a hundred times or a thousand times more than now; that means the awakening of the energy there. The same as these needles or this energy which is penetrating, you don’t see the energy with your physical eyes, but there is a little flowing up. This is: you awake your centers in your palms, and then you place them on the body where you have pain. Close your palms, come inside, and mentally imagine that the cakras again go to sleep. Withdraw that energy back, now open the palms, come back. This energy should work with your own willpower, and this is how you can awaken with this exercise. These are the cakras, postures, bandhas, what Swāmī Kalyānanda was teaching you, you know, upside down and downside up and left to... right and right to the left, but stretching, but pointing your concentration on some particular. Yoga is that science which can lead you to your ultimate aim. Never be in a hurry. Do not fall into temptation. Think very clearly. Use your heart. We should use the heart, which has only 300 grams. It is 300 grams. It is one of the very strong pumps in the body, you know. It’s said that in one minute, this 300-gram pump is pumping 30 liters of blood. One minute. Can you imagine? Can’t imagine. And God has given something also very important, you know, between two ears, and that is our brain. We have to keep this brain healthy and awakened with all these chakras, which are guided from this, and also this heart, which supplies good energy circulating in the whole body. All our chakras are there. So, you can tell, life is that science. And that is everything for you, what you are searching for. Slowly, peacefully, and never be in a hurry. Vaheguru Jī Jai. Good morning to everybody again. I wish you a very blessed, divine day. Today is one of the most beautiful days again. Sunrise with such a beautiful rain. Puri Ji, glorious, full of the beauty and nectar, divinity, blessing, clarity, the entire colour. Such a beautiful day, such a happy day. Means of the sons of children, basically what we call the war victim in the world. Poor it is, there is no poor victim, it is. The war, it is the politics. Purposely they keep, and they make it, that they are all... they are not poor, they are war victims. But such a divine... Feeling happiness, with this our day begins. With this, thinking begins. In this creation, in this mysterious creation, whatever there is, and in this life, the human is someone or something very big or very high up. The human, that human consciousness, freedom with human abilities—humans are able to do miraculous things. Within you is the divinity, the divine, spirituality. You are holy, you are divine, you are the cosmic Self. But there is a mala, vikṣepa, āvaraṇam—these three things: impurity, disturbances, and the curtain of the glory. There is something in us which pulls us back. These are our weaknesses, habits, and emotional weaknesses. Emotions. Emotions have every creature. Emotions have humans too. Creatures, they put their emotions in two occasions, either when feeling scared. Humans are constantly in motion. Sometimes you can swim through, and sometimes you should be the master of swimming. Then you can swim even opposite to the waves. You should know how to dive in the waves. Similarly, our emotions are jealousy, greediness, and all these different kinds of emotions. Some people know how to drive with this, to dive in and out, and then gently you can come. Some cannot. Then they speak such words, or their actions are such, that they are very sure and important. Emotion is ego. Ego is also emotion. So, the products of emotion are from the ego. The ego is constantly producing. Ego is healthy. Without ego, we cannot live. Ego is a will to exist, to live in this life. Healthy ego is a good ego. Unhealthy ego is a bad ego. That’s not good. And that’s what meditation is, and especially mantra. You practice mantra, and you have a certain emotion. You close your eyes and you say your mantra, and you are like you are diving into a high wave, and that goes on gently. Now, what does it mean to dive in? Surrender. Now the human ego is very big. He or she, they found the second way to surrender your ego is to pray. That is the best way to surrender. No one sees except God and you. Forgive me. We accept our mistake, and we surrender. As soon as we surrender, that high wave will go. The difference between that emotion and you, that emotion and you, is the same as the ocean and water, or the ocean and waves. Can you separate the waves and the ocean? We say, "Cut off the waves." No. So we cannot separate ourselves from that emotion. But suddenly, the atmosphere changes and the sea is calm. And so we are very calm, very happy, very relaxed. And that is also a technique of the physical exercise. Many people go for jogging, walking their dogs aggressively. Give them therapy if someone has too much anger. How long should I go to the office with you? Go and tell your wife, your wife... If you are angry with your husband, then tell him, "Don’t come home for half an hour," in my therapy room. I am sure he will be very happy. He has written on the basket, a very big basket, Bhūt Cheṭol Corp. Basket for the hangers, for your papers. You see, there is a yoga. In yoga, there is one posture. It is a beautiful creature. But he looks like he is looking. As you, then it is a dog. Generally, when you observe the cobra, the cobra doesn’t stand by. He is very gently sliding his head. He raises himself up, full of energy. People tell that there are certain snakes that can raise themselves up by their tails. And some people don’t believe that a snake can raise up to the tail. The raise on the tail, four years ago or three years, I was walking in Jadan Ashram, Moonsur, two hours, one and a half hour, slowly, comfortably you can walk two hours, 30 short, fresh and short, suddenly I see beside me like that, till this high, snake, I said yes, snake can raise up, so that It is a snake which can kill the horse. It’s about two and a half meters long, three meters, anyhow, good. You have many in Australia, so you did not speak of a snake, so I said. The most poisonous snake exists in Australia. They told me, when you are bitten by the best Australian snake, then you need not do anything. Do one thing: make yourself comfortable, then. You have the time just to make yourself comfortable. So you can sit in lotus, and like this. People will say, oh, this yogī went into samādhi in lotus. This posture, the cobra position, is influencing the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. The Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra in our body is the second center, found below. Beautiful center, good center, colorful center. If you remember, yesterday I spoke about all these beautiful centers in the body and how they affect us. And Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra is just here. I don’t know if you see, my Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra is situated at the lower end of the sacrum. Its mantra is one. The Swādhiṣṭhāna Chakra marks the second level of development; the evolution of consciousness towards pure human consciousness begins in the Swādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. It is the seat of the subconscious mind, where all life experiences and impressions since the beginning of our existence in the womb are stored. The Mūlādhāra Chakra is the storehouse of karma. However, these are activated in Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra. Awakening of the Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra brings clarity and development of the personality. But before this can happen, we must purify our consciousness of negative qualities. In the symbolic picture of the Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra is a lotus with six petals. This represents our negative qualities, which are to be overcome. Anger, hatred, jealousy, cruelty, desire. Now, these six qualities first we have to overcome; then we can come to the Manipūra Cakra. Then Kuṇḍalinī Śakti can rise up. Otherwise, that divine Śakti which awakens in you, that power which awakens is lost in this. Electricity is here. Electricity is here. Electricity is in this light. Electricity is in the video camera. Electricity is in the air conditioner. Electricity coming from the powerhouse gives comfort to our life. It can save our life, but the same electricity can kill us; it can take our life. So, we should know how to deal with this energy, this power. Safety precautions we must have. So, therefore, before we get the electricity light in our house, the electric board will come and check all safety regulations. They will say, "Now everything is okay for the children," and this and that. Then they give you permission, and then they will give you the connection. Similarly, when Kuṇḍalinī Śakti awakens, before awakening, some divine Śakti comes and changes everything. It’s not so easy that your kuṇḍalinī awakes and now you can see. And a little bit of awakening power is there every day. Every day is a Kundalinī awakening, something. Shaktipat. Shaktipat. But we don’t say Shaktipat. We say Śakti Uthān. Śakta means falling down, pātāla, and Uthān means rising up. So Śakti Uthān is important, not Śaktipāta. Śaktipāta is when Kuṇḍalinī awakens and comes to the Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra and then supports these qualities of yours. Which quality? Anger. So it is not your mistake that you are angry. It is not your mistake that you are jealous. It is a mistake of certain energy in your body, and you would like to control it, you would like not to be angry, but you cannot control it, because it is there. Digested, designed to represent the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra, is the crocodile. The crocodile is representing the Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra, and we know what the crocodile means. It’s not so harmless anymore. It’s the laziest one, the dangerous one, the angriest one, these qualities. So, when you are in Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra, then you are the crocodile. That is, you know the song. There is a sea-whirling alligator. It symbolizes laziness, insensitivity, and the danger that slumbers in the cakra. The element of the Svādhiṣṭhāna is water, which is also a symbol of hidden danger. Water is soft and pliable, but it also has immense power when out of control. This is just how it is with the Svādhiṣṭhāna Chakra. When negative emotions rise from the subconsciousness to the conscious state, we can be completely put off. Then don’t blame your husband that he is always angry with me. It is of his Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra; he is not guilty. It is his Svādhiṣṭhāna Cakra. Take a big bamboo and put it on his Svādhiṣṭhāna backside. Okay? He will say, "Oh my God!" and run out of the house. Go to the doctor and come. The divinity of the chakra is Brahmā, the creator, and his daughter Saraswatī. The goddess of wisdom and fine art is also there. The creator is also there, and with them, Sarasvatī is also there. The fine art is also there. When you are full of passion and full of desires, you know how many tricks you are playing. Oh, beautiful tricks. You are the best man in the world. That’s it. The Svādhiṣṭhāna is orange, the color of the sunlight, which is symbolic of the rising consciousness. Orange is the color of activity and purity. It indicates the positive qualities that unfold in this chakra, such as joy, faith, self-confidence, and energy. Therefore, this āsana, this posture, we have the cobra posture. This posture is one which mostly controls your svādhiṣṭhāna and muragana. To activate these two lower chakras, to control them, and to awaken the good qualities in your body. And therefore, stay for a while. In the beginning, you should not go so far up, otherwise you can have a problem with the backbone, the lumbar region. In the beginning, you should come only to this first posture, which is shown here on page 210 in your book. So, the yoga postures, yoga exercises, they are, here also, they are to stimulate the energy tree. That’s why, if you remember, yesterday I told you yoga exercises are a cosmic done.
