Morning Meditation From Vienna, Part One

Meditation and self-inquiry are practices for daily life. Sit comfortably and upright. Use a mantra to block other thoughts and withdraw from the outer world. Chanting together aids this process. Physical mudrās, like bending forward, support circulation and diminish the ego. These practices are for the eyes, memory, and brain. After a period of practice, resume regular activity with awareness.

"The mantra aids greatly with this."

"It is important to remain in this mudrā for a while."

Filming locations: Vienna, Austria.

Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jai. Om Nāhaṃ Karatā Prabhudīp Karatā, Mahāprabhudīp Karatā He. Kevalam Om Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ... Make yourselves comfortable and sit upright. Those who have a mantra can repeat it with a mālā. Those who do not have a mantra can use Om as their mantra. This means to think the mantra from time to time. It is especially helpful when other thoughts arise, to block all thoughts or to protect us from various thoughts for a while. The mantra aids greatly with this. Sit comfortably and upright. Close your eyes, take a deep breath in and out, and withdraw from the outer world. Relax and be aware of your existence in this space. Now, we will all chant Om together. Relax, take a deep breath in and out, breathe in deeply, and chant Om. Now, fold your hands completely together, rub your palms a little, place your hands on your face, open your eyes, and bend forward. Try to touch your palms to the ground and also your forehead to the ground. Feel a blood circulation, a flow, especially directed towards the head area. It is important to remain in this mudrā for a while. It is good for the eyes, for memory, for the brain, and it diminishes your ego. Slowly come up. That was for our German-speaking group today. And now, dear friends, good morning from Vienna, a beautiful city, to everyone. We had a meditation in the German language, and now the program will continue in English. We have about a ten-minute interval, and after ten minutes there will be meditation. Enjoy your break and please be punctual in returning. The interview begins now. It is ten past ten, so at twenty past ten we should be here again. Hari Om Dīp Nān Bhagavān.
