The sounds of AUM and RAM

The sound Aum and the movement of prāṇa are central to awakening inner energy. All language begins from the single center of the navel. The letter 'A' emanates from there, and 'R' returns to touch it, creating a cycle of expansion and contraction. In Kundalini science, one inhaled breath divides into ten prāṇas that energize the body. Chanting Aum is a Kriya Yoga practice. We expand into the universe with 'A' and contract, bringing the 'M' back to the navel. This awakens the Kundalini Śakti, moving energy from the navel to the heart, to the throat, to the brow center, and up to the crown, receiving the nectar of immortality. The cycle then brings this energy back down to the navel. By following this resonance, one purifies the body and connects with the universal energy.

"By chanting Aum, we are awakening that Kuṇḍalinī Śakti, coming from the navel to the heart, from the heart to the vocal cord, lightening in the Ājñā Cakra."

"Relax and close your eyes. Concentrate on the resonance. The vibration—through that resonance, you hear with your ears."

We pronounce a single letter or alphabet. The first alphabet is 'A'. So, 'A'. And from 'A' also begins 'A'. Whether it is the English language or the German language, most languages begin with 'A'. This is the letter 'A'. First, it is Sanskrit. The Sanskrit letters are 52, but they are somehow made of smaller letters. In English, there are 26 letters. In the Serbian language, there are 28 letters. The Serbian language has 30 letters. In German, I think they have 27. In Russian, it is more different. But it all begins from one center: the navel. When you say 'A', it emanates from 'A'. And when you are saying "r," the navel is peaceful; nothing is happening. 'Ar'. But when you said "Ar," "R," then again you are touching the navel. So there, you repeat it again. 'Ar' and 'Aram', 'Ar' and 'Ar'. So, 'R' comes from the petal; 'R' comes from the navel. This is very clear. In Kuṇḍalinī science—the cakras in Kuṇḍalinī science, or the prāṇas—there are ten prāṇas. What we are inhaling is divided into ten throughout our whole body. It is one energy, one power that comes to our body and then divides into different organs. These are: Prāṇa, Apāna, Udāna, Vyāna, and Samāna. You have read about this in the Hidden Powers in Humans book. If you want to know what the science of yoga in real life is, it is explained nicely there. You should study and read about the human power in the body, the cakras and Kuṇḍalinī, the hidden powers in the human. On the last pages, the whole summary is written. It would be best to study one or two pages every day. Let's take Prāṇa. Prāṇa is explained in Hidden Powers in the Human. According to that, prāṇas also produce resonance, which comes into our body. If one cannot hear, then one cannot speak either, and that person has a problem with these prāṇas. Perhaps if someone can give them some training with the navel, it may awaken, but there is still little success. When we say "A," we are expanding. When we say "R," we are extending, and with "R," we are bringing back: expanding and contracting. Contracting the 'ṛ', awakening the power. So, what we are chanting: "A"—everybody say "A," "A"—then it goes further: "A," "U," "M," "M." And with the "Ṛ," it is only two and a half alphabets—a half, half, one and a half pronunciation. This becomes a kriyā, what we call Kriya Yoga. We are expanding into the whole universe, receiving that energy from the whole universe, and we are coming, bringing the 'M' into the navel again. So, concentrate and listen carefully. Close your eyes. Follow the resonance. Close your eyes. Now, concentrate on your resonance through the whole body, in and out—the vibration, Apāna and Prāṇa. Prāṇa supplies energy in the body; then Apāna purifies the body and also creates that energy resonance, bringing it from the back with the Rāma from the Sahasrāra Cakra: Bindu, Ājñā, Viśuddhi, heart, and Maṇipūra. It goes from Maṇipūra, heart, Viśuddhi, Ājñā, Bindu, and Sahasrāra. This is the cycle of life prāṇa, life energy; it is very important. Relax and close your eyes. The inhaling energy, or the prāṇa—oxygen—is entering the body. With this Rāma, from the Sahasrāra Cakra (top of the head), Bindu, Ājñā Cakra, vocal cord, the heart, and the navel. Ājñā Cakra, Bindu, and Sahasrāra Cakra are powerful cakras in our body, but all are connected to the navel, the Maṇipūra Cakra. By chanting Aum, we are awakening that Kuṇḍalinī Cakra or Kuṇḍalinī Śakti, coming from the navel to the heart, from the heart to the vocal cord (Viśuddhi), lightening in the Ājñā Cakra (the eyebrow center). The nectar gives us the possibility to attain the nectar of immortality and the Sahasrāra Cakra, Śiva, or the Universe. And the Rāma is coming from the Sahasrāra Cakra, the top of the head, the Bindu, the center of the nectar. Ājñā Cakra comes to the vocal cord (Viśuddhi), to the heart, and brings that energy to the navel. When we chant Rāma, we start from the Sahasrāra Cakra through Bindu and bring that nectar through Ājñā, Viśuddhi, the Anāhata heart, to the Bṛk, towards Maṇipūra. Relax. Listen to the resonance. Relax the whole body. Be aware of being thyself here. Relax. Keep your eyes closed. Relax the whole body. Be aware of your being here in this hall. Be one with thyself. Relax the whole body. Concentrate on the resonance. The vibration—through that resonance, you hear with your ears. The stomach gives energy. The organs of the body relax. Just be one with thyself. Any thoughts come, let them come. If they go, let them go. Say to thyself, for a while: relax, relax, relax myself, relax, relax myself, relax myself, relax myself. Feel the motionlessness of the body. Feel your breath. Feel the descending and ascending breath. And now, withdraw the self into the external world. This beautiful hall, all your friends, sisters, brothers in the same hall—become extrovert. Five times we will chant Oṃ Rām. Hold your palms, rub your palms, place the palms on your face, gently massage your facial muscles, open your eyes, and move your hands. Place your hands on the ground and bend forward. Feel the circulation towards the head and neck. Feel the heartbeat. Feel the circulation towards the head, eyes, and jñāna indriyas. And with the help of the hands, raise your head up. Raise your hands up, stretch. Interlock your fingers, stretch the hands up and down on the head, up and down. Up and down, up, left side, bend, left side, in the middle, right side, middle, left, middle, right, middle. Very good. Stretch your legs, and bow, rolling: 1, 2, 3, 4.
