Mataji was pure form of Love

Today is a remembrance of the Divine Mother, celebrating her Mahāsamādhi and unconditional love. Her presence in the ashram was a blessing of profound affection, expressed through giving prasāda and maternal care. She was the creator of a divine living master, indicating her own supreme divinity. Though not in living form, her astral presence remains to bless all. Her love held no duality, seeing all children as equal. The temple built at her Samādhi place is a source of spiritual power and fulfilled wishes. Her essence was not ordinary; she gave birth to a sun-like being who leads humanity from darkness to light.

"Anyone who came for darśana, she would say, 'Oh, betā, please come,' and she would give prasāda."

"She would always say, 'Pulpari, come here. You are my sweet boy. Please come, sit here.'"

Sādāśivapūrṇa Bhāratījī Mahārāj Kī Jai. Hari Om. Good evening, dear brothers and sisters around the world who are watching the live webcast today and who are sitting here before us. First of all, I would like to offer my salutations to our beloved Gurudeva, Viśvagurujī. As you all know, today is the Mahāsamādhi day of our beloved Holy Mother Māṭājī, whom we call Viśvagurujī’s dear mother, Sādhu Śrī Pūrṇānanda Bhārtījī Mahārāj. We celebrate this day every year in remembrance of her. Today, Viśvagurujī gave me the chance to speak a little about her, so I would like to share some of my experiences with Māṭājī. When I was first brought to this āśrama by Viśvagurujī at just six hours old, very small, the first person who took me in her arms was our dear Māṭājī in front of the Śiva temple. She was a truly loving and caring person. Many of you met her when she was here in the āśrama, staying and living with us. She always used to have a prasāda box with her, which she kept next to her pillow. Anyone who came for darśana, she would say, "Oh, betā, please come," and she would give prasāda. She was a truly loving person. Do you know how great she is? She created a divine living master in Viśvagurujī. If she could create someone so holy and divine, then imagine how divine she herself was. We were truly blessed to have her with us and be in her presence for many, many years. All of you who were with her were very blessed. As today is her Mahāsamādhi day, we should all remember her and pray. She is always with us; she is always present, perhaps not in her living form but in her astral form. She is always here with us, blessing us. We are all blessed to have her. That is what I would like to say. Thank you very much. Now we will enjoy some bhajanas and perhaps a speech from Viśvagurujī. Thank you. Gurujī Swāmījī gave Māṭājī the opportunity in her last years to be in the āśrama and do japa mālā to get ready to go to a higher level of consciousness. She used to sit near the Śiva temple, under the neem tree on the palanquin, and she always had prasāda with her. Whoever came, she would say, "Āo bhetā, āo bhetā." When we came near, she would bite us out of love and affection, and we knew that. Then we would get prasāda. There was so much love, so much love that it is difficult to describe—a mother’s love in pure affection, in its pure form. She would sit and do mālā all day, and we would walk around doing some sevā for her. Those were beautiful days. I may say we were very lucky that Māṭājī spent her last years in the āśrama, giving us her affection and her blessings. As it is said, whoever has a wish, a hidden wish or a request, should make nine circles around this temple, and that wish will be fulfilled. Mother is here, giving her loving love, Mother’s love and blessings to all of us. Śrīdīp Nārāyaṇa Bhagavān Kī Jeho. Greetings from Jharā Āśrama and Praṇāma to Viśva Gurujī. Brothers and sisters, today we are remembering Swāmījī’s Divine Mother and also all mothers—the essence of a mother’s unconditional love and that energy which is always aware of the needs of all living creatures. We had some pūjā now at the Dhūnī, and now we will enjoy some bhajanas and perhaps some words from Swāmījī. So much love to you all. I hope you remember the love from your own mother, and also, if you have children, give freely from your heart to all, everybody. Hari Om. Rāja Parampitā Parameśvara Parampūjyaśrad Gurudevakī Satya Sanātana Dharmakī Salutation to Paramparā Ṛṣis, and I bow down to the Lord Gurudeva’s Holy Lotus Feet, and Divine Mother Puṇyānanda Bhāratījī Mahārāj. I bow down to His Holy Lotus Feet. Today is the day when our mother, Puṇyānanda Bhārtījī Mahārāj, departed from this material world and merged into the cosmic light. Today is the day of the Mother of God, Pūrṇānanda Bhāratījī Mahārāj, whose Pūrṇyā Tithi is today. I bow down at her feet. The Mother of God, who, in the form of God, in the form of Lord Śiva, the divine mother—we miss her very much. It was good luck for me when, in 2001, I came here to Viśvadīpa Gurukula, the Education Research Centre, Jardhan Pali, Rajasthan, to this āśrama. At that time, Holy Gurujī was here, and Viśvagurujī was also here. But from time to time, Viśvagurujī and Holy Gurujī would go to other places for satsaṅga. I was here for one year, and we had many, many bhaktas from around the world, foreigners. I was missing someone to sit with. I did not understand the English language at that time. Both my Gurudeva and Dādā Gurudeva would go to other places, and I would feel lonely. I was doing my best to serve Gurudeva and Holy Gurujī here, but when they went away, I was here for a year. I would see my Divine Mother from time to time. She would always say, "Pulpari, come here. You are my sweet boy. Please come, sit here. You are my sweet children. Come here, sit." She would give me prasāda. I was feeling so much love that I could not imagine and cannot describe in words. So much love was given by our Māṭājī. That is the divine light from her. All children are equal for her; there is no duality or difference. Just as the rivers Gaṅgā, Yamunā, Kāverī, and Sarasvatī flow in different ways and then merge into the ocean, in the same way, for a mother, all children are equal. It was good luck for me that from time to time I could do whatever sevā I could manage for her. When she departed from this world, I missed her very much. So today is her Samādhi day. We are here to celebrate her Samādhi day. This is the first time after her Samādhi. When she attained Samādhi, Viśva Gurujī was here, and after many years, in 2011, she departed. After a long time, Viśva Gurujī is present here today at the Samādhi place. You see how beautifully Viśvagurujī has built the temple here. It is called Śrī Siddha Śakti Pīṭha. ‘Śrī’ means prosperity, and ‘siddhi’ is where we pray, where we do our mantras and anuṣṭhāna; we get śakti, spiritual śakti, divine śakti—that is called siddhi. ‘Pīṭha’ is the place where the divine mother, the holy soul, resides. So Viśvagurujī gave me the opportunity to share my experience and my feelings. Today we are here at her Samādhi place. Whoever is listening around the world, this prayer is hers and Viśvagurujī’s. Blessings to all, and Mother’s blessings to you all. Today we are here. Please, you should pray. We all pray to Mother. You will get blessings from her. We are here. They get all types of devotion and power, and their wishes are fulfilled. She was not an ordinary mother. Just as the sun illuminates the universe and removes darkness, in the same way, Mother Bhagavatī gave birth to such a sun-like, divine great man who has given light not only to India but also to the entire world as the sun of knowledge. He has taken people away from darkness and taken them toward the light: Asato mā sadgamaya, tamaso mā jyotirgamaya, mṛtyormā amṛtaṁ gamaya. Viśvagurujī has provided us with a way to take people away from darkness and lead them towards light. May this art of living a happy life be yoga. May there be peace in the world, may there be protection of the environment, may there be the teaching of non-violence. By showing us this kind of path, he has given light to our lives. For this, we bow at the feet of Mother Bhagavatī and bow at the feet of the Guru of the world. In this time, in this age, in this present time, there is a need for such divine great men who will lead human beings toward the right path. By saying this, I give rest to my speech. At the feet of the worshipped Mother Bhagavatī, again, Sat Sat Naman. And at the feet of the Guru Mahārāj, śāṣṭāṅga praṇāma. Oṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ.
