The ways of Purification

The mantra provides refuge and purification. Recite it mentally in daily life to invoke divine presence and protection. All five elements purify. Earth absorbs impurity, water blesses, air carries life, fire transforms, and space contains all. These elements cleanse body, mind, and atmosphere. Use pure food, breath, and thought for health. Sattvic diet and pranayama remove inner impurities. Joyful practices like song and dance also elevate the spirit. Purification through elements and discipline leads the soul upward.

Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudīpanārāyaṇa. Haṃsabhadas Prabhuśaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudīpanārāyaṇa. Haṃsabhadas Prabhuśaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudīpanārāya. Namaḥ Śrī Prabhudīpanārāya. Haṃsabhadas Prabhuśaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Siddhi Prabhu Dīpa. Oṁ Namaḥ Siddhi Prabhu Dīpa. Haṃsabhadas Prabhuśaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Haṃsabhadas Prabhuśaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa. Oṁ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa. Haṃsabhadas Prabhuśaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu. Oṁ is always what we know. "Oṁ Namo Namo" means "I bow down, I bow down to thyself, my Mahāprabhujī." Oṁ Namo Śrī Prabhu. "Śrī" is knowledge, prosperity, good health, everything. Śrī, Oṁ, and Śrī. This mantra is very good. Oṁ Namo Śrī Prabhu, and therefore this Oṁ Śrī is Mahāprabhujī. Oṁ namo śrī Mahāprabhujī. Oṁ namo śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇa. So Mahāprabhujī, Dīpa Nandamājī, is that our Lord. We are all bhaktas here, all together. Oṁ Namo Śrī Prabhu. O Mahāprabhu, all we are adoring to Thyself, and that’s why it’s a very important thing. Oṁ Namo Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇa Nārāyaṇa... is Viṣṇu. Nārāyaṇa znamená Viṣṇu. So that is that God, that is the Lord of all. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhupāda Nārāyaṇa. Haṃsabha, we are all Haṃsabha, and we are all your devotees. So we are with him. We are all together. "Ham sab de dās." "Dās" means devotees. We are all thy devotion. "Ham sabde dās prabhu śaraṇa parāyaṇam." And so that we come to thy holy feet. That’s very important. This we should know. So immediately, whenever anything happens, then we should know that we should have this mantra. And this is a nice mantra, a big mantra. Mantra: Oṁ namaḥ śrī prabhu dīpa nārāyaṇa Haṃsabhadas Prabhu Caraṇa Parāyaṇam. Haṃsabhadas Prabhu Caraṇa Parāyaṇam. Oṁ namaḥ śrī Pranārāyaṇam. Oṁ namaḥ śrī Prabhu Dīpanārāyaṇam. Haṃsabhādas Prabhu Charaṇ Parāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpanārāya. So whenever we are driving a car, walking, working in your kitchen, or when you are alone somewhere, you are working somewhere, you do, we shall work. If you are in some company or somewhere, of course, they give you money, but you have to work. Mentally, we can think, "Oṁ namo śrīprabhu dīpa nārāyaṇam." So if you have some people beside you or with you, then you should not make like this, that somebody will say, "What are you doing?" So we do it mentally. So now fold your hands and mentally, eleven times, this mantra. Repeat this mantra: "Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇam Haṃsabhādas Prabhu Sārṇaparāyaṇam Haṃsabhādas Prabhu Sārṇaparāyaṇam Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīpa Nārāyaṇam." So, eleven times mentally. If you forget them, count them on your fingers. Oṁ Namaḥ Siri Prabhu Deepa Narayanam Ham Sabdhatsa Prabhu Sarar Parayanam. This is the first time, repeated. This is the second time. Three times. Pratikra. Oṁ Namaḥ Siri Prabhu Deepa Narayanam Ham Sabdas Prabhu Saran Parayanam. Four. Oṁ Namaḥ Siri Prabhu Deepa Narayanam. Ham sabdhās prabhusaraṁ parāyaṇaṁ. Oṁ namo siri prabhudīpa nārāyaṇaṁ. Ham sabdhās prabhusaraṁ parāyaṇaṁ. Six. So, continue. Five times more. When you finish, then put your hand down. This also we can chant as a chanting mantra, which we did. Of course, there are many, many mantras, and how many mantras are in those Vedas? And all the Upaniṣads are mantras, and many others. That is one of the best spiritualities. To develop our body’s health. Our mental also, our health in the body. And many things, because that is purification. It is said that when we have the milk and we put water, that water becomes white. Similarly, what we have in our different prāṇas, energies—physical, mental, etc.—is purified through the mantras. And many people, which they are putting some, like today, I leave this Google mantra. So, through mantra and the smell of the good plants. It’s purified around everything. We know that. That’s why all the yogīs, and in India many, many, they are making this kind of yajñas. It must not be a big fire; it can be like this, just a little bit that smells nice. And if we are using it like this in a long, long area, it makes a very nice purity, the pure energies, the pure atmosphere. The pure thoughts feel the whole body, because when we inhale this beautiful smell, it makes the inner side of our body healthy. You know that also in Christian temples they are also using this Google. And now they are also using the agarbattī. And this Agarbati is like, from these different googles and different things, they are making the stick, we call the Agarbati stick. And so in the temple, or in the church, now you call the church, but in Jesus’ time it was called the temple. The church came after. So in this temple, when we enter there, immediately with one breath, inhale, it changes its atmosphere within ourselves first, in our body. Then it comes onto our body. Then, in our looking and breathing, everything becomes pure. And also, at that time, they make the ceremony with the water. Because water is also the fifth element. And that water is a holy water. Long, long ages they were using that water, spreading it as holy water. And if you know, even in Christianity, they are giving with the water the ceremony. And many others, not only Christians. But that is the water, and water is life. And I think that Jesus also had his guru. And he was giving him blessings in the water. So water is purification, water is purifying, air is purifying, fire is purifying, all these are purifying. And earth is purifying. For example, we have one floor with some stones or cement. And you go for holidays, and then you will come back. You will see the dust, dirt. Where? On your cements, or on your stones, etc. But in the earth, in your garden, no dirt, it will grow. Or earth, on the earth it will be purified. So it is the Earth, Mother Earth. We come from the Mother, and again we will go to the Mother. So everything but Mother is there. So everything is purifying the Mother. You know, when a little child is making urine or toilet, then the father is looking and tells his wife, "Please, can you clean your tire?" "Yes." Also in animals, they are also purifying the mothers. So even the birds, they have the eggs, and they are taking care and treating them with the warmth of the mother’s body. That’s why always the mother sits on the eggs. Because it must have the mother’s warmth. In that, this egg develops, then the body of the bird, and only she knows that now she can touch it. It will break the egg, and the baby comes out. So everywhere is a purification, and it’s mothers and fathers. So many old animals, and some animals are like this: when they have eggs, immediately they eat. The most reptilian. Well, let’s not go further. So these five elements, the earth, Mother Earth, yes, Mother Earth, but my father’s land is a little part of the earth, so that father is happy. But the mother is the whole earth. It is mother and mothers. The father is the greatest thing. Very great. Very great. That will come later. And after that, what we have? Water. So we call in India, "Jal me jahāṁ, jagadīś." Where there is water, there is Jagadīś. And what is that jīva? Jal is the water. Jal jaha Jagdish. What is Jagdish? And what is Jagdish? That God who is on the earth. On the Jag earth. Na Jag, na zemī. So, where there is water, there is God. And where there is God, there is water. And where there is water, there is earth. And where there is earth, there is a mother. It doesn’t matter which kind of mother, from any creature. There is even, it’s called, some animals or birds that are always in the sky. And also, they are created inside, in this space. And they die also. There are certain that cannot sit on the Earth. For example, many birds. If they sit down, they can’t get up, so they are always in this space. So earth, water. Then the space, which is everywhere. Then comes the fire. The fire is everywhere. Without water, the fire cannot exist. And water cannot exist without fire. They are together. Which kind of water? Not only liquid water, but there are different kinds of waters. And so there are many, many, many different waters. For some kind of water, we worship. Yajñas. We need fire for cooking, for making warmth. We also need it for the funeral, that is called the Jātā Agni, and that is also inside the fire. Without our body, our body cannot live. There is water, but without fire, the water will also be fried. So also the water, there are many, many kinds of water. And many, many kinds of fire. Where is the fire not? And where there is very cold and snow, ice cream, not ice cream, but ice cream is also the same thing. So, in this, what is called the very big part of the ice, or any kind of snow. Take the snow in both your hands. How long will you hold it? It will melt as long as you have your hand warm. And then slowly, slowly, that this earth, although this snow has lots and lots of fire inside also. When iron is very cold in the winter and you hold iron, oh my god, after iron is cold, and then it becomes like hot, cold, hot. So in the cold is the hot, and in the hot is the cold. They are developing in different parts, and then the air. Without air, there is nothing. It is said that once, when Hanumanjī was flying from India to Sri Lanka. And what did happen once that the Vāyu Śakti had no air anymore? So some Rakshasas finished the air, and he just fell, Hanumanjī. And it said he cannot move, and he was a little, like a little boy. So his name is Pavanasuta Hanuman, because Hanumanjī’s father is the wind, and that is Pavan-suta Hanumāna. So Pavan is the air, Suta means the son. And that is his name, Hanumāna, Pavan Suta Hanumāna. And so again, Hanumānjī said, "Father, I cannot, cannot live anymore. Father, I can’t live any longer. Please come." And so his father, Pawan, came again. So when the wind came again, air came. Again Hanumanjī was inhaling. Becoming strong. And Hanumanjī, psst, went up. So, Pawan, air. Without air, we cannot. But air is not outside; it is also in the body. And when we eat something not good, then the air takes out all kinds of dirt. So from our body, it is that air or this energy through which all kinds of impurities are taken out from the body. So the fire, the water, the earth, the air, all these five elements, they ask for that energy. And that’s why the yogīs are purifying this. Then long, long life will be. And what kind of food we have? We are not using very good food. So we have to get very pure, very good, and a little. Don’t eat too much. As much as you eat, that much you will become. It’s called not a pure energy, so that’s why there’s prāṇāyāma, and why we in yoga we call the prāṇāyāmas. And that prāṇa is very difficult to keep in the body, and now it is said all creatures, they... They eat there on that kind of nourishment which God has given them. The tigers will not eat ice cream. Will not eat goguruc. Will not eat the chapati, will not eat the bread, nothing, but what the tiger or the lion, what they will eat, they eat always meat. So once Holī Gurujī was somewhere, and then he was from some king families, and they said, "Holī Gurujī, said, ’Come to Mahāprabhujī.’" And then this family was sitting there, and then Holī Gurujī said, "Mahāprabhujī said to the king, Mahārāja, you want to have mantra from me, but you are eating meat." So I will not be giving you such things. So he said, "Okay, I will give up. Okay." And he gave the mantra. But before he baked with Holi Guruji, an argument that Maharaja, so he said, "The king, of course we should eat the meat. Everyone is eating meat. I have the cat, the tiger, everything." Guruji said, "Yes." A tiger eats meat, then he is a tiger. But a dog can eat both; he can eat bread, he can eat some milk and everything, like humans, and also the meat. So, what do you eat? I eat everything. Then you are not a tiger. You are a dog. If a tiger eats the meat boiled or fried, said, no. Will that tiger eat anything that other animals have eaten, the piece of the meat, and then the tiger will eat also? No. So therefore, come to Mahāprabhujī, and then Mahāprabhujī told him, "So don’t eat, clean your house. It will take many, many years. It will purify the atmosphere of the earth: air, fire, everything." And I’m sure that you have read in our holy Mahāprabhujī books. So, have you all the books of Mahāprabhujī’s? Did you read that? It’s written there. So, our inner self, the most impurities are in a human’s body. Other dead animals can lie in the forest somewhere, but they will not smell very bad. And then other animals eat, but humans, after a few hours, it smells very bad, and that’s why all the food is brought to a cold place. dávajú. So how much impurities are in the human body? And therefore it is said, first eat sattvic food. Sattvic means pure, very clean. So, try when you eat a beautiful, good salad, some good seeds, etc. Such pure food. Then you will have no impurities, too much, in the body. And that’s why people are eating everything and cannot digest, and that’s why there are many, many diseases that come in the body. And that’s why we say, "I am ill, please, and I have this," and operations and this and that. So we shall make it, it’s called the sāttvic food and prāṇāyāms. Why do we have in yoga pranāyām, āsana and pranāyām? Asanas practice movements, and through the movements in the body, where the impurities in the body are stuck, through the body movements and through the body movements the blood circulation, and through this energy impurities which are coming, gases from the body, and that’s why we call the prāṇāyāma, prāṇa. And so, through the nostrils, we have many, many different kinds of techniques to bring out all kinds of impurities. So there are many things we have to practice. This is what we are doing, and we should all the time be with purification. If you put one, let’s put one, some kind of cloth on your horse or on your cow or on your goat, Indian animals, you put one cloth because it is cold one day, two days, three days, the coat. Of your horse, the coat from your horse, the horse has the coat blanket. Coat. Blanket. Blanket, yes. We cover it with a blanket. So, and after one week, when you smell your horse, it will not be such a bad smell. And we humans, on the second day, we don’t wash or try on our dress. When you go to your saw in your office, everybody will say, "Oh, today is the best smell." So, you know, we are first bringing the washing machine. Why? That’s humans. So much smells in humans. And when we are eating different kinds of food, then also, many animals have. And that’s why many people cannot go to someone’s house, because of their cats’ smell. Cats are very good, but some people cannot stand that smell. But if someone likes the cat, and in your house and your family, your neighbors, maybe they like the smell of the cat. But if someone comes in the house, in a big building, then he will say, "Oh, there are some cats, or the horse, or the dog." Different creatures have different smells. But there are some kinds of animals that also have a stronger sense of smell. But this is as far as animals in the forest, because many animals don’t like that smell. So they don’t come close to that animal. So that’s why we are all practising prāṇāyāma. And what we do is the kriyā sādhanā. And Kriya is that which is bringing the negative energy out first. So not only that we like the pranayama or blood circulation in a better way, but also the purities. So these are different kinds of prāṇas. And so when we come, when we are singing some nice mantras, or making some ceremonies, or we sing good things, and every song is a good song. We like bhajans, but some people like other songs or bhajans. Why not? It’s very good bhajans. Here in the Czech Republic, Slovakians also. They are having very nice bhajans, songs. What do they call? Tancuj, tancuj. You see, everybody will... How is that? Dance here, she can dance here, yes, come up, she can dance here, up, yeah, yeah, with the shoes or without shoes, okay, good, yeah, good, and Poonam also. Now you see, so bhajan is also, and dancing is also very good. Everything is good. Where the human becomes happy, that is good. You see how nice it is, this is bhajan. Also, this is great, how you are all happy, how how you became very active and very nice, see? And one more, something more, Pavel? Pavel, something more? Song? Namaśivāya, namaśivāya, oṁ namaśivāya, oṁ namaśivāya, oṁ namaḥ śivāya, oṁ namaḥ śivāya, oṁ hara hara bho oṁ namaḥ śivāya, oṁ namaḥ śivāya,... oṁ hara hara bho oṁ namaḥ śivāya, oṁ namaḥ śivāya,... Om hara hara bho Prasad. Good. Thank you. What would you like to have? Yes. Tak. Dobro. Dobro. Okay. Thank you. Your mother and your father are here, and they said that my dear daughter can sing with us. Okay. Thank you. Yes, because they are little children, and therefore parents should say yes. Thank you. Thank you, Poonam. So, so that’s what we, many kinds of this in yogic parts, what we are understanding and bringing our prāṇa up and our soul, our own ātmā, that comes then into the purities to the supreme part. And there are many paths in yoga that help us. To lift our ātmā into the greatest spheres, to purify it. So prāṇāyāma, now here in our area, 24 hours, good air here. There are some trees in the night; they do not give you good oxygen. But here in this area, we all know that oxygen is very good from these trees. We know that these trees give very good oxygen, and from the grass. And more coming from Mother Earth, the oxygen. So we said, make pranayama not only for a few minutes; the best is fifty-fifty, fifty-fifty. Fifty āsanas and fifty prānāyāmas. Go ahead or do more prānāyāma. That God, we pray to God that no one has any disease. But if something, we can purify through the prānāyāma: good water, good food, good air. And good prānāyāmas. Thank you.
