A Gathering of Hearts

A gathering reflects the unity and discipline of spiritual practice. The seminar was peaceful, with everyone practicing love and devotion. Organizers worked tirelessly to create this opportunity. Participants came from many places, yet nationality was irrelevant. The focus was on shared humanity. Spirituality means purity, kindness, humbleness, non-violence, and respect. It involves prayer and meditation to purify the inner self. All five elements exist within the body. Life is given to live happily and peacefully. Yoga is union and walking one's own path without competition. It is about bringing human to human through kindness and respect. This creates oneness. The expansion of practice is through humility and friendship, not through claiming superiority.

"Spirituality is purity, kindness, humbleness, ahiṃsā, and respect."

"Yoga is union. What is the union? We are oneness."

Part 1: A Gathering of Gratitude and Unity We offer our blessings to all the lineages of our holy Gurujīs: Ālakpurījī, Devpurījī, Mahāprabhujī, and all the holy Gurujīs and saints of our spiritual tradition. We adore them and receive their blessings. This past week, you have had beautiful programs and received many blessings. We have gained much knowledge, spirituality, and practice. Many of our brothers and sisters attended this seminar, which was very peaceful and disciplined. Everyone practiced with love, devotion, and purity. The organizers worked tirelessly for two months to create these opportunities for all. The best of this was held here at our Mahāprabhujī Deep Ashram in Strelky. We have been trying for two months to host this seminar here and to have the chance to come to Strelky. Friends prepared nourishment for us—breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea—all very disciplined and arranged at different distances. The organizers prepared many beautiful places; when it rained, people gathered under a tent. Many helped clean glasses, plates, and so on. Our little children were perfect: very good, very relaxed, with no noise or disturbances. They also practiced yoga and performed nice dramas. They were great. Many friends guarded the perimeter of our ashram and helped people with their cars and everything. Our gardener, who grows nice salads and vegetables—we are very happy for her and grateful to her. Many have helped her greatly. This year, the days have not been hot yet, but I think hot days will come. They took great care of the garden and helped many people. Many things were born, like salads, but so far it is not warm enough for full growth. Our students—the Yoga in Daily Life people, who are both students and yogīs, both students and teachers—were in nearly four different locations. They did very, very great work. I am very happy and adore all of you for doing everything so wonderfully. This is what we call discipline. In all our Yoga in Daily Life, people are like brothers and sisters. They are with their families; some are at home taking care of children while one part is here, then the other part comes. It is like a family. We are all like a family. All our teachers—thousands of them—are so humble. They never think, "I am a yoga teacher and I know everything." Many people cannot tell if someone is a student or a teacher. In this seminar, we learned about not only respecting each other but also being very, very friendly. People came from many countries, yet no one thought about why you are from this country or that country. We hardly ask, "From which country are you?" We are from this Earth. If we can further teach mankind happiness, joy, respect, and brotherhood, then there will be no problems in the world. We have Yoga in Daily Life around our world. They are so humble and kind, practicing all kinds of yogic techniques and spiritualities. They are learning what spirituality means. Spirituality is not only from Mahāprabhujī and Devapurījī, or from one teacher here. You all are the ones bringing this divine atmosphere, this spirituality. We shall further bring knowledge and spirituality. What do we understand about spirituality? It is purity, kindness, humbleness, ahiṃsā, and respect. Never speak negatively. There is prayer, meditation, concentration. Through inner techniques, we purify our own body. Within the body, we have everything. Yesterday, I spoke about the five elements. All these five elements are within ourselves. Even when we talk about space, this space is also within us. If there is no space, we cannot move, we cannot speak, we cannot open or close our mouths. This is prāṇa. The sky is within us; the liquid, the water, is there. God has given everything in every creature—that kind of life for them—so they can live happily and relaxed. God gave us everything we need to live a peaceful and happy life. That is why it is called yoga. There is no competition, no challenges, and not taking from here and there. Walk on your path, the path of our paramparā. That is very important. Do not think that only our Gurus are good. We should not say that only we are the best. It is like one parent has one child, and another child also has a child. One says, "My child is very beautiful and very nice." The other says, "My child is also very beautiful and loving." Other couples say, "Your child is so beautiful and very nice, it's great," and they also tell the parents their children are so beautiful, very good, and high-grade. That is great. This means your child, your house, is beautiful, and that is also beautiful. Everything is great. So why can we say no? You bring your children to me, and you stay there. We cannot take the children away; we help them. We adore them, we respect them, and we all become one village. How do we make the village? You see, first there is one house; that is a priority. But the whole city or this village of Strelky—that is called a village. Everyone lives there, everybody has their own house. They say, "Where are you from?" "I am from Strelky." "Where is that?" "In the Czech Republic." "Oh, where is that? Where are the good things?" They have a beautiful castle and a very beautiful restaurant—the Tildek restaurant. But the cemetery where people are buried is one of the most beautiful here in Strelky. If you have not seen it, you should go—I mean, go there while alive. We can ask, and they will explain everything to you very clearly. It's about a five-minute walk, half an hour. This cemetery is very, very old. Now they are asking for money to clean and renew it. Of course, you must not give, but if you do, they will be happy. People come to this country, the Czech Republic. It is a very, very beautiful country. Do you know that? The capital city is Prague, which means "meeting together." There is a beautiful river, the buildings are very beautiful, and there is a beautiful lake. The bridge over the river is something to admire. In Prague, there are great artists. Do you know that? There are great artists, like, for example, our Vasant and his wife Gaṅgā. Vasant means beautiful, just as flowers blossom—spring. And Gaṅgā: there is one Gaṅgā in India, and the second Gaṅgā is here in Prague. But not only in Prague, also in Strelky. That is very beautiful. So the whole Czech country is beautiful, beautiful. People are also very good. There are many things. You can go tomorrow; we can ask them. Or next time you come, or maybe you have already seen. Or next time, when we have the third Guruvar. There is no eating—what is that called? Fasting. So we will fast and go there. On the way, that's called Tilak. Do not tell that Swamījī is also here, so everything is good. The cities or villages are very good. People are very good. They like it; they want us to also go for other shopping. Of course, no eggs, no meat, no alcohol. But there are many things. To see the people, there is a very beautiful castle over there, and there is what we call the temple of the Christians—that's called a church. The church is very good. Do you know what "church" means? That is oneness. Is there a beautiful castle there? No, the church. Our priest here is a very, very great person, but we are only coming here and then going away, so people think, "What is the problem?" But you know, we are giving them money. How many days will you be? They will give you the bill. So, all of us—how many are we? How much are we giving? Maybe in the villages, nobody gives money. In the villas, they ask for money from the government, but we are guests. Guests are very good, but we are serving them. We serve everything, like in a tilak; we serve what they call pizza, like a good guest. But afterward, they say, "Please, can you pay?" Why? Because our city needs this, and so we are all together. That is called yoga. You see, if we go only to one side... then you know what happens, and you know how it happened. It is happening that we are silent everywhere. That is not good. So, at that time, because we did not say to all the people, "Hello, how are you?" and speak like this, next time we should do so. We should also shop in this village. Some people sell certain fruits. They have very nice organic vegetables, and we can buy from them. That would be great. That is what yoga means. What does yoga mean? Union. What is the union? We are oneness. And that will come. All the yoga people are the best. Many times we had programs; we invited people, the church, or the priest. We had a nice program and gave them some kind of bite to eat, and they were very happy. So we shall bring human to human; then it is more our spirituality—that is called spirituality. So next time, the group that is coming, we shall go and see and speak, and like this, slowly, slowly. Now they are like that. But we will ask our friends here—the city mayor, the priest, and other officers—so we shall achieve this: that we have to become truly one, but slowly, slowly, go to every shop. It is good, very good, and you will come to know how people are. Otherwise, they think, "My God, they will take our whole village now." People were buying many, many houses; it was cheaper, but now Strelky is one of the very—how do you call them?—expensive places. So we are not coming here to take the whole city. We bring people here for them to get something. This is not only here in Strelky. Everywhere, in every country, people would like to say how good we are, and we would want to know how good they are. So we have to come first. We have to come to say everything goodbye or welcome. So this is what we have to come near to. This is what we call yoga. That is a very great thing. Next time, when our commercial things become better, perhaps we will organize a football game ourselves once. Yes, because there is a very nice ground, and people come here for football games. So once a year we could give them this, and we all go and watch. Yes, that is something. So that is what you take from here tomorrow. Then, in your yoga group, yoga classes, or yoga centers, we say that we are that Yoga in Daily Life. In many countries, they like it very much. In Hungary, they have very good friendship. Our dear Krishnanand is a very famous person in Hungary—from the President and Prime Minister of Hungary to all the universities and colleges, the farmers everywhere. Krishnanand is a very famous person, but not only him; all his friends have made a beautiful, very big friendship. So in Hungary, there are yoga centers in many, many places. Like here in Czech and Slovak, in Croatia and Slovenia, etc., everywhere. And we shall bring more friendliness. So we should always do something. In your country is Rijeka—not your country, Croatia—and in Croatia is Rijeka. I did not know what Rijeka means. I was always thinking it meant very angry. But they said "Riekā" means the river. So I said, but it is the truth, expanding. So all that, every time, every year, the water comes and makes it wider and a little wider, breaking. So both are the same thing: the river and expanding. And flowing, they bring all different parts of the water. They bring it to the Adriatic coast. Rivers always gather many waters and bring them to the ocean, to the sea. We call it Jadran, the Adriatic Sea. Okay. They are so good. Yoga teachers, many yoga teachers and practitioners, are expanding more and more, very big, and so many, many people are coming. It is a beautiful house and everything. Of course, it's 10% of Strelky. But very nice, very beautiful, and also a big hall like this. This is one of the biggest in Rijeka. Many people from governments come there, and city people come. Many people come from other countries, and also from Czechoslovakia. They come there in summer. It is a beautiful place, and they have very good-tasting food. My God, I like to eat and go like that. That is why I do not go there too much. They are very great. And so in Croatia, in the capital city, our Mahāmaṇḍaleśwar Vivekānanda Vivekpuri has made a great expansion of yoga. A beautiful ashram, and embassy people come. Ministers come. It is very nice, and you know, it is a very good city. But also in Slovakia, in the capital city, there is a beautiful ashram. How many people are there? This is called being very humble, kind, and respectful. So we are not going to the many; they are becoming and making some kind of money. But they go for a while, and then they run away. You see, it should be something that goes constantly. There are many people who have made beautiful yoga programs and some centers. But for how many years will it go? It will destroy. Part 2: Heart to Heart: The Essence of Yoga We have our heart, and we are trying to connect heart to heart with our countries. We are respecting your cultures, and they also respect our cultures, and that is yoga. So, not only exercise and bodybuilding—you go for hockey playing, but how many do that, and for how long? Yoga is from ages and ages. And so you are that. All of you, I can see in your eyes this time, because I can’t see your face. I can’t see your mouth, so I see your eyes, and eyes are only looking. But in moving the mouth, that is not there. So eyes are like a man, but the mouth is the woman. They said, "Yes," and smiling and this and that. Everything is from here. So, all we have blocked. How are you? Only looking like this, we don’t know, yes or no. So, where there is no yogic knowledge and yogic feeling, suddenly the whole world was blocked in the mouth. So now you don’t know who is who. Is he smiling or not? Yes. So one day I was angry. They are thinking, "What is Swamiji saying?" Because everything is in this, so this is now becoming for the man. And it will come for the women. I have not heard today. It was yesterday, always with me. But it was said again, we are one. Hari Om. Hari Om. So this is what we are respectful of. So this talk today is for all of you, because tomorrow you are going. And what will you tell your people? They will say, "But Swamiji gave the message." How was it? So, āsanas, prāṇāyāma. Okay. Everyone had āsanas. Prāṇāyāma. Okay. But what I spoke today is from my heart. And heart to heart, and that is what we can call yoga in our daily life. So, what have we made our logo now? We will think it over. And we will make it what it means. So we will get one word, something, okay? So every year we are making something. So I hope that you were happy here. And it was good food, good practice, etc. So that is great. So with this, I wish you all the best, and please, you as a yoga teacher, give this humbleness, kindness, peace, harmony, and teaching in a nice way. Also, we should ask the questions: "Do you have any problems, this or that?" Because everyone says yogīs are healthy. And yoga, they also said, is kind of a doctor, a spiritual doctor. And there is also Āyurveda, many things. So they think that the yogīs have everything. So we said yes. We have everything: one in all, and all in one. This is the slogan of our Holy Gurujī: "One in all, and all in one." That we will keep it somewhere, our slogan, okay? Good? Okay. Hari Om. Tomorrow, the program is till 12? Tomorrow, the program is until 12, yes. Or till 10 o’clock? Till 12, Swamiji, and after, your program will be also lunch for all. Very good. With me. Okay, we will all have lunch together here in our yard, okay? Yes, and it may be again, Mahāprabhujī, Devapurījī, Holy Gurujī, always I’m asking you for something. You remember yesterday I prayed to Mahāprabhujī? Our Gurujī, in this, please, let us have a satsaṅg. And they took away the clouds last year also. So many things, when I pray and you, they will give us peace, and then after comes rain. So tomorrow we will ask Mahāprabhujī, "Your prasād we will eat on the meadow, but how will we eat if it is raining? So please, we will eat all on the meadow, and we will eat your prasād." Thank you, Mahāprabhujī. So I say, now, this is our Kākabhaṭī, and yesterday we were till number 30. Now it is to the number thirty-one. And so, does anyone know the name of this letter, "L"? L?... Is anyone have with... Yeah. Yeah, there are rising hands, people. Yeah, many. Yeah. You are also. What is your name? Lana. Yes, Lana is good. Lana is a good name. So, beginning with this, okay? So, last time I was talking about this. Mamma Madhavānanda kā kehnā, guru gyān meṁ nita hī rehnā, yāya yād karo Raghurāī, an dāna Lakṣmī mile jag māī, rārā Rām apne ghaṭ khojo, janam maraṇ ko meṭo bojo. This was the last we were learning. We did it also? Yes, we did it. Lallā lagan vinā nahīṁ pāvo bāto meṁ kyun samay gamāo? This we also taught. Bhava, viṣaya, vāsanā, meto jab hove, Prabhu se bhyo to. Now it is coming. Śaśa, śakti vinā mat khonā, bhakti vinā sab thāṭ alūnā, śakti vinā... It is said that, so this śakti means power. Knowledge everything first in your body, and in our body we should keep that prāṇa, that śakti. Don’t get rid of it out without anything. Śakti vṛthā mat khonā. Unnecessarily, don’t lose the energy. For example, drug, alcohol, many things. So we are losing the energy from our body. So there are many different kinds of śakti, which we spoke of before. If you will just lose all your energy, then you will not enjoy your life as you are sitting healthy, best, etc. Otherwise, you are losing all your energy. Śaśa śakti vṛthā mat khonā, śakti binā sab dhāt alūnā, and dhāt alūnā is something we say we want to eat. But there is no salt inside. But inside the food there is no salt, and everyone asks, "Can I have a little bit of salt?" Without salt, there is no taste; without sweet, there is no taste. So this is the energy within ourselves. Śaṭha śakti vṛthā māt khoṇā, bhakti binā sab tathā alūṇā. Śaṭha śata darśana kī māyā, iskā pār koī nahīṁ pāyā. Śaṭha śata, okay, śata darśana kī māyā. Śata darśana is the seven, or six, Indian, what we call, the philosophy. And if you know all this, you don’t know. So it is māyā, which means not illusion. Maya means money, but not this kind of money. The real property is the knowledge. Therefore, sat-darśan kī māyā, all this, that is the knowledge, the māyā. Not maya of the money, not maya of the treasures, land, property, etc. No. All that is the well literature there. It’s beautiful. Sata Sardarśan kī māyā, iskā pār koī nahī̃ pāyā. And this Sāta Sardarśan is that. You can read and read and read. You will not bring it to the end. For knowledge, there is no end. And what is Lakṣmī? No, not Lakṣmī, Sarasvatī. And Sarasvatī sees the God of knowledge, but though she is, still she has a book in her hand. So even that divine mother of wisdom, the knowledge, but still she has her book, because that is, comes and comes and comes. Like the Bhagavad Gītā, you can read and read. Knowledge will always come to you. That’s it. So this is chat. Chat darśan kī māyā iskā par koī nahīṁ pāyā. No one has achieved the end. If you want to have a meeting and sitting somewhere, then be with the sādhus. Not all the gushing up, not fighting, and not making negative thoughts, but sadhu, sadhu, saṅgat kī je, always stay with that sadhu. What is a sadhu? Very humble, very pure. Not only that, you have dressed like a sadhu. A sadhu is one who has that knowledge. So what is that? So it is said, Sādhu saṅgata kījē, jāna amṛta satsaṅgamē pījē, and because in this sādhu there is knowledge and knowledge of the amṛta. So knowledge and amṛta we can only get in satsaṅg. And this is the satsaṅg where we are. So, dhyān amṛta satsaṅg may pijey. So this knowledge and amṛta, amṛta is a nectar, only we can drink in the satsaṅg. Anywhere, any temple, any religion, where you go in there, there is nectar. People are meeting the dualities, but the real ones, who are in their own religions, are very humble and very kind. That’s it. So, sacca sādhu, saṅgat kī je, jāna amṛta satsaṅg me, pī je, drink the nectar, not alcohol. Ha ha, hi ho, har mat jana, esa shame fir hat ne ana. So, who was with this sādhu, sādhu,... sā? Okay, sorry. Harsha. H, Harsha. So, hh, hh,... hh. Knowledge, your kindness, your humbleness, you will never, never talk and think negative about anybody. Then you are that. That’s called her. Have anybody here her? So there are many. So if you are a Harsha, Harsha Devī, Harsha, Harsha,... Then don’t become very... you can be lost. Don’t be lost. Like only the hero, the hero, that hero who is in battle. He will not run away left and right. And that all the time. All the time, no women go for fighting. No, only the men. And men will not go with the cloth. It is, "I am open chest, come to me." Now all are the... they are very, how do you call them? They are gay. People are fighting 50,000 kilometers far, and they are pressing a button here. That is not a hero. That is not a hero. Hero means? What is a hero? What does it mean to be a hero? Eye to eye. Eye to eye. But the yogīs call them like Arjuna. They are like Arjuna. Yeah. So, anyhow. So, it is ha-ha-hyu-har-mat-jana. Therefore, don’t become a—these words—don’t run away, back, run. What is that called? Coward. Coward. Don’t be a coward. That’s it. So, very good. Otherwise, you will not get any time like this in your heart. It should remain; you will lose it in your hand. When you lost your gun, you lost. That’s it. Or give kindness. Give love. Give happiness. Give birthday, good day. That’s it. So you have it in your hand, you give it to them. So this is the part of the human, that if a human lost this, then everything is lost. And they will never, and never, they will criticize anyone. They will try to protect everyone. Then you are with her: Haṃsā Devī, Haryabhavī, Haṃsā Devī, Āryā Devī, Bhaṭṭis, Bhaṭṭis, Him, Bhaṭṭis, Hirapurī, all these. And if you try to protect all of them, then they will really become you. A life like a human life will not come again. Kṣa, kṣaṇ, kṣaṇ, umar jāve, kṣa, kṣa,... kṣaṇ, kṣaṇ, umar jāve. O my dear, day by second by second, our life is going. O my dear, second by second, your life is going. Therefore, Rām Bhajan Bhin Fir Pistāve. Therefore, if you will not meditate on God Rāma, or Gurudev, or Jesus, or anyone, if you did not meditate on this, then you will be firpistāvī, then you will be very sad. So we should pray, remember, and worship the name of God. What Gurujī is writing to the Rāma. Gurujī writes about Rāmāyaṇa here. Do you know the mountains in Slovakia? Many, many. Big Tatras, little Tatras. High Tatras, yes. Yes, so this is good. So you know what is the name Tatra? Swamiji, what are you asking, Swamiji? We have mountains and mountains of the Trā. You are great. Slovak, you are very good. Oh my God, it is it. Trás, trás, trás means torturing. When someone wants to torture somebody with a knife and this and that, and that torturing, torturing. Mučiť, či už nožom alebo inak, they are killing the animals, burning the animals’ life, and so everything. When we get a little thorn, we say, "What is that?" So, oh God, please, oh God, please, save me, save me. Oh God, save me, save me. So, who comes and takes the body takes your life. So there is Yama or Dharmarāja. And this represents the one who comes and takes your body. Whether it is Dharmarāja or Yama, we don’t know how they will torture. And there are many, many things you can see. That’s why God said heaven or hell, and hell is there, we’ll be torturing. How long, we don’t know. Because you give life, human life, and there we gave you this, which is the best thing. But if you will forget, and you think, "I am good," at the end you will be somewhere else. In that case, only Gurudev can give us life again. It is said that you have a hole somewhere. Only a doctor can close it, or someone who makes our dress. So similarly, Tathātā-rāsa-hyākṣam-kī-bhārī, only Gurudeva will hold you. And then, yama cannot come. It will come back again. And then, Guru Kṛpā will come. You do not like Yajña? Gyāna guru bina nahī. Therefore, knowledge without a guru, no. Your cycle teaching you is your guru. Car driving is your guru. A school teacher is your guru. Without a guru, you can do nothing. Electronic work. Only you are learned from someone, then you can work this electronic, otherwise not. So, in the same way, for the soul part of the humans, a guru is needed. So, jñāna guru bina nahī, jñāna bina mukti nahī, so without knowledge of the Gurudeva, you will not come to the mukti. Liberation. Jñāna mile Gurudeva ke dvāre. And therefore, we will get that knowledge at the door of the Gurudeva. And that is why we obtain this knowledge at the gate of the Gurudeva. And it is at the gate of the Gurudeva that we should get liberated. Aisa bhakt koi birla hove, like that, rare are the bhaktas. Takito su vśak bhaktove abzāznī. Apnā svarūp āpme jove, that is, they will see their liberation, their everything within, their inside, and therefore we should look in our body inside and not outside. Aisa bhakt koi birla hove. So there are rare bhaktas. So you should look within thyself. So holy Gurujī said this kakabhaṭīsī. It is said, kakabhaṭīsī ānandakārī. It is very ānanda, the blessing. And Holy Gurujī says this kakabhaṭīsī will bring you ānanda. Then, Bhagavadī Gāve Nārnārī and that, that bhaktas can sing these bhajans. The bhaktas who can sing these bhajans, nara-nārī, both men and women, they are singing, whether it is a man or a woman. So those who are in yoga are disciples. Guru mantra you have. Shugraho samajkar gawe, so that are those who have mantras of the Gurudev and Guru disciples. Then they know this song, and sing it. Those who are Nugra, who are on the other side, not the spiritual side, in their mind they don’t feel to do anything. So those who will chant this every day, our bhakti, our guru, the kapālabhāti sādhanā. He who will read this lesson every day, whether in the morning or even at all times, everything, you will get peace and bliss in your body. Dostanete všetko. Shrī Swāmī Madhavānanda Kathā gāve. So, Holī Gurujī is singing and writing this. Sab santon ko śiṣ namāve. Sab santon ko śiṣ namāve. Holi, Gurujī. Holi, Gurujī. Bowing to all the saints. He bowed down in front of all the saints. Guruji said, "Guruji said, ’I adore all yogīs.’" Is there something missing? So it was 45, and that was holy. Guruji said, "This was the," and that is so, from 1 till 45. So we went from 1 till 45, and this is already written in your languages—not your languages, but these letters. And this is very difficult to read, but what to do, Jñānan, Swami Jñānanjī, he read me all this. So for me, it’s only like the letter of the birds. So you should get the other one, and this is also okay. But I would say that you should learn the other one. What is it? Okay? Yeah, not this is Devanāgarī, but other English letters. This is it. You like it? Did you like it, Blanka?
