The Vajra Nadi

The grace of the Guru is like nourishing rain. We begin with prayer and worship to receive peace and harmony. The practice focuses on the vital energy channels, or nāḍīs. While Iḍā, Piṅgalā, and Suṣumṇā are known, the foundational power comes from Vajranāḍī. This channel begins from the toes, providing stability and energy like roots of a tree. It is crucial for balance and sending prāṇa to the brain. Practice involves awakening this energy by massaging the feet and soles, especially between the toes, and by standing on the toes each morning. The navel is the seat of vital prāṇa; its alignment can be checked and corrected by feeling its pulse and gently adjusting the legs. Physical practices support health, but the inner consciousness is paramount. Incorporate elements like specific chili for digestion and reverence for holy objects and water.

"Vajranāḍī gives us stability and sends prāṇa to our brain."

"Check the exact point of your navel... If you have poor digestion or eating issues, we can correct it."

Let us begin with the grace of the Guru, Gurukṛpā. It is like beautiful clouds that bring water to the forest, creating greenery everywhere. Because it is very hot, this grace gives us a wonderful atmosphere. Let us come together, fold our hands near our heart, and look at them or focus as you wish. Mentally, say whatever you want to your Gurudeva, God, mother, father, or anyone. We worship and say, "My Gurudeva, my God, I bless you, Gurujī," and we wish, "Please give me peace, harmony, love, understanding, etc." With that, our wish is fulfilled. We can say any prayer, such as: "My Bhagavān, my Gurudev, bless me. I aspire to be in your service. Oṁ Gurudev Namaha. Oṁ Gurudev Namaha.... Oṁ Siddhi Viśvamadeva, Oṁ Siddhi Viśvamadeva, Oṁ Holī Gurujī, Oṁ Alakpurījī, etc." Then we can chant the mantra "Auṁ," and then other mantras. I am very happy to see you. Yesterday we had very long programs, and people from those programs in America gave many thanks. I think the Americans were surprised. They said it was so late, but they remarked, "Wow, the Europeans are so nice and so peaceful sitting there." I said, of course, your roots are from Europe. But from every country and different place, we come to one country. For example, we are in the Czech Republic, and we know there are many people from other countries here. Similarly, embassies and governments bring people from different countries together, which is very good. People appreciate people. Wherever one is, one experiences that kind of environment. They see how people are here, and we like you, for example. I have been here for 42 years in Europe, which means I have spent more time here than in my birthplace. I feel at home. People from every country also respect people from other countries. Of course, if some individuals act improperly, that country may not wish to have such people. In the same way, we have come to this beautiful place with so many beautiful trees. These trees have a certain spiritual power and energy here. Now you can just look at each other a little and see how the environment is. That is our program here—our seminars, which some call retreats. It doesn't matter; some countries say retreat, some say seminar, and some call it satsaṅg. Everything is positive everywhere. Now, regarding our sādhanā, I have spoken many times and would like to tell you once more that we have many nerve systems, but primarily we focus on four. It is said there are three: Iḍā, Piṅgalā, and Suṣumṇā. These are the names in the language of yoga, Sanskrit. We see the left prāṇāyāma, the right, and the center. These three nerves are very powerful. They all connect, as we know well, to our whole head—what I call the head, others call the brain. It is the same. The third is this, and the fourth is called Vajranāḍī. You may have heard of Vajranāḍī. It begins from the big toes and second toes. From there, like all five—what we call the thumb on the hands—there are also five on the foot. It comes like roots, and this tree is held by its roots. These roots hold our body when we are walking or running. The toes are like roots; they hold power, bringing energy to the brain and giving balance. Vajranāḍī works together with all other nāḍīs, just as a tree has many roots that give nutrition to the whole tree. Vajranāḍī gives that power, energy, and balance, which is very important. Therefore, when we come to yoga, with prāṇāyāma and meditation, prāṇāyāma balances our breath. This is not only about getting air through the nostrils; each and every hair on the body and the skin also give nutrition and connect to Vajranāḍī. Vajranāḍī gives us stability and sends prāṇa to our brain. So Iḍā, Piṅgalā, and Suṣumṇā—these three nāḍīs have power, but it comes from Vajranāḍī. Those who talk about Kriyā Anuṣṭhāna, the Kriya practice and the chakras, speak of the serpent power. This serpent is also the great power of iron. That is what gives us strength. Now, how should we practice? Yogis of old used wooden shoes—perhaps because there were no shoes like today. They may have made something from wood to hold. The power lies between the big toe and the second toe; this is the iron power. Every morning or evening, or when sitting, we should take off our shoes, gloves, and socks. Sit down and hold our fingers or palms without asking anyone. We move our fingers to awaken that energy throughout the whole body, including the big toes. There is a difference between what we should do and what we often do. When we go to the bathroom, we massage our hands and feet. Also, when sitting without socks and shoes, we touch and massage the soles of our feet, working between the toes. This power connects from the brain to the navel. The brain has a lot of power, but the life, the soul, resides in the navel. You know the story of Bhagavān Rāma and Sītā. Rāvaṇa took Sītā away, but she did not want to go to his palace. She sat in a beautiful park under a tree. Rāvaṇa could not come near. Bhagavān Rāma asked him to respectfully bring Sītā back, but he refused. A war ensued. Rāvaṇa had great power; even when shot, he fell but got up again. Ten times his head was cut off, and immediately another head appeared. That is why he is called Daśaratha. Rāvaṇa had ten heads; he was a devotee of Śiva—that is a longer story. They fought, and finally Bhagavān Rāma shot arrows ten times, but Rāvaṇa did not die. Rāvaṇa's brother, who was devoted to Rāma, said to God, "Please, you cannot kill Rāvaṇa because the prāṇa, the soul, is in his navel. Your arrow should go to the navel; then he will fall and die." So Rāma shot the arrow into the navel, and Rāvaṇa fell. He had always spoken harshly to Rāma, but finally he said, "Śrī Rām, He Bhagavān Śrī Rām." Rāvaṇa fell, and Bhagavān Rāma came and gave him blessings—it is a long story. So, we ourselves have prāṇa power in our navel. In yoga, what we do is get up in the morning and rise on our toes. This brings prāṇa to the navel. From the head, we take our fingers and stretch upward. Stretching up and standing on the toes awakens the power in our nābhi, the navel. Do this only ten times in the morning without shoes. Then stand on the inner foot and the toes, stretching and standing on the toes. Do this ten times, or eleven is best. In about two weeks, you will feel the condition of your body, energy, and power improving more and more. So Vajranāḍī is powerful. Though Iḍā, Piṅgalā, and Suṣumṇā are soft, Vajranāḍī is like iron, and we should practice it every day. Then we sit in yoga postures, mostly the lotus posture, because there we receive prāṇa power and energy from the soles of the feet. When sitting in lotus posture, we should massage the soles and toes a little, then form a mudrā with our palms and foot soles. This brings energy through the whole circulation in the body. If we cannot sit in Vajrāsana, other postures are fine. I once asked Holī Gurujī: if someone's leg is cut off below the knee, how will the prāṇa come? Gurujī said it will continuously flow, even if the legs are together. And if both legs are broken? Gurujī said, "That will come," but it is a different power. So, practicing yoga signs that you are receiving energy does not depend on your body. Gurujī said, finally, take care of your body, but one day the body will go. Our prāṇa should be in the subtle part of our body, in the Ātmā. At that time, the Ātmā will go with us, and the body will fall here. Someone said, "Nowadays, people are better." Otherwise, in Europe and India, children always eat with the right hand and write with the right hand. If someone writes or eats with the left hand, I said the right side is proper. That person can learn again, but we do not force anyone nowadays. In reality, being ambidextrous is best; there is more energy and knowledge from the left hand. But in our villages and countries, we use only the right hand. Why not the second? Because the second is for washing, etc. But if one hand is broken or missing, can we not eat with the left? Can we not pour water with the left? So this is not good. Do not depend on the body. What is inside, in our consciousness, is very important, and that is what we practice in yoga. We practice for a good life and health, but one day we have to go. As long as we live, our body should be healthy. For that, please use Vajranāḍī. When walking, it is Vajranāḍī. When running, it is Vajranāḍī. Going for a walk, it is Vajranāḍī. Waking up and standing from the sleeping bag, it is Vajranāḍī. Going to the bathroom, it is Vajranāḍī. Going to work, it is Vajranāḍī. Everything is Vajranāḍī. Therefore, we must bring awareness to our Vajranāḍī. Massaging our foot soles is very important. Some say immense energy is in our foot soles, and many practice acupressure there. I have a friend, Rāmdev. You know him? One day I was with Rāmdev in his ashram. Afterward, he said, "Let's drink water or juice." He is perhaps the richest person now. He has 108 sannyāsīs, 100 female sannyāsīs, and 150 male—it doesn't matter the exact number. He said, "Swāmījī, come to my room because people are always coming." So we went to a little room with a sitting area and a small sleeping space. I was surprised; there were so many books. He had a very nice, big bed with at least 400 books on it, and one cloth. He pulled it aside and said, "I sleep here," with a few books near his head. He wakes at three in the morning. He sat me in a nice place and held my leg—first the left, then the right. With his thumbs, he said, "Swamiji, this is good for diabetes and other things." He pressed for so long I said, "Finish, finish." He said, "No, no..." Then he took my hand and said, "You drink juice, Swamiji, I will do it." With this finger, I could not move it afterward, so I went to a doctor in Vienna who fixed it. He meant well but was very emotional and strong with my hand. He said, "Swāmījī, you are a very soft person." Now, back to our topic. We have all the center's powers in acupressure—in the foot soles, palms, and each finger differently. The power comes from Vajranāḍī, and Vajranāḍī brings it to the Sahasrāra Chakra. Read and learn about Vajranāḍī. If we can, we should walk on gravel or sand for about five minutes. If not, have one square meter in your house for this. But do not let a cat there, as it will think it's a nice bed and clean it up. Some people use plastic with needles, but five minutes without socks and shoes is enough. Similarly, with the hands. Now, when meditating, after folding your hands, rub your palms and place them on your face. Then open your eyes into your palms. This gives energy light to the eyes and spreads through the whole body. This power is in our palms, all fingers, toes, and downward. Next, we have the navel. Someone told me that if you have problems—constipation, diarrhea, discomfort, or lack of energy—it is often related to the navel. Check the exact point of your navel, which we call pastuti. It may be on the left or right side. If you have poor digestion or eating issues, we can correct it by bringing it to the right point, the nābhi. Everyone can check this. In the morning, after going to the toilet and washing, but before eating or drinking, lie down without clothing on the stomach. Place your thumb exactly on the center of the navel and feel the pulse. You will feel a movement, like a nerve or nāḍī, maybe to the left or right. If the movement is toward the left side, lift your right leg up, bring it close, and try to fit it down gently. Do this once. After one minute, check your navel; it should be in the right place. Then observe throughout the day: do you have diarrhea or constipation? It should come into order. If the movement is to the right side, then lift your left leg. If you cannot do it yourself, ask your wife, "Hold my left leg and lift it." But your husband should not pull too quickly because she is soft. He should hold her leg gently, saying, "My Śakti, I hold your feet." The husband should be soft with his wife, and the wife wants this from her husband. If there is no one, do it yourself. Lie on your back; if the right side moves, lift the left leg, bend it, and bring it down gently. All is good with the navel. Similarly, I ask people with headaches: why not check the navel? When you have a bad headache, press your navel and see where it moves—right, left, up, or down. Ask your wife about the problem. Your husband might say, "Which side is east, west, north, south?" She may say, "I don't know." He might say, "Then I will put my heel on you." Hari Om, you are going, Karma Yoga, very good. We will talk further, but time is limited. The navel power, Nābhi, and Vajranāḍī are key. If Vajranāḍī is strong, you will have no problems with your navel or constipation. I think from age 25 to 40, people begin to get constipation because they don't drink proper water and eat unhealthy things. We should eat more salad and chili. If you don't eat chili, my dear, you may have constipation. Eat chili, and you will see things move softly in the evening. Yes, eat chili; in the morning, you will get up softly. This is called chili magic. But please do not eat the very strong chili that is half a finger long, with thin skin and many seeds. It can cause problems in the intestine, even making holes. The best chili is Hungarian, or similar varieties. It is thick-skinned, a little sour and spicy. That is best for all of us. You can make powder from it, but eat it whole. You will see your stomach improve. If it feels too strong or burning because you are not used to chili, take it slowly. Alternatively, use black pepper. If needed, take yogurt: two tablespoons of yogurt mixed with one liter of water and a little salt. Drink this water; definitely, constipation will go away. But chili must be included. So now you should sing, "My chili, my chili, my chili." Not "silly," which means stupid, but "chilly"—chili and chilly. From today, begin to have chili. If you don't have chili, I must ask Bhakti Devī or the Christians to bring chili. Yes, you know, I spoke long before about holy water. Every week, I should have told you that we have holy water. Holy water is everywhere, but in that holy water, there is Mahāprabhujī's power inside. There are different kinds, but holy water may not be left anymore—I forgot during corona. Holy water, please try to spray in your garden, house, and doorstep, especially outside the door. Also, from the windows, but don't spray too much; it's expensive. Just a little, and one drop for our hands and mouth—that is Mahāprabhujī's. Try this; I forgot to say it earlier. In the holy water, there is power because it contains Mahāprabhujī's foot-dust, a tiny bit of sand. Unfortunately, Mahāprabhujī left, and all this sand—I don't know where it is—but Gurujī had some. One day, Gurujī said to me, "Maheshī, my whole body is Mahāprabhujī's holy foot, but I give you this." That is with me in two places. One day, I went to this holy water, and you also have some. I'm not making business today, okay? It's not business. There is one sleeping bed of Holy Gurujī, Mahāprabhujī. A family near Nepal, very devoted to Mahāprabhujī, had two or three beds. One was outside on the veranda where Mahāprabhujī sat; one inside where satsaṅg was held; and one always open with no doors, just one window. They gave me that bed, unfortunately in poor condition, so they put plastic on it. This family once said, "Swamijī, we would like to give this holy bed from Mahāprabhujī to you, if you want." I said, "This is for me—my whole life, because for many lives I will be very happy." Mahāprabhujī's clock said, "Yes, Mahesh, it's good for you. Take it, take care; it is the best." Your life will always be good, but all devotees should always be with me, so this holy bed is with you. It is in Jadan. Now our Yogeshjī, Swami Yogesh Puri, slowly took out all the color. After Gurujī Mahāprabhujī, there were termites eating it. When your Gurujī's door has mosquitoes and everything under them, what is your disciple? But Yogeshjī made it completely new. He did not give anything inside, and some animals had eaten the wood, so he took out little by little. I have a little piece of Mahāprabhujī's bed in Jadan. I want very much to give many people a little piece of Mahāprabhujī's bed. Many have received it in mṛda—some in gold, some in silver, some in... what? How is it? They have Mahāprabhujī's bed. Mahāprabhujī lived there for 25 years with his devotees. Yesterday, I had a conference in America with this family. The wife has been a disciple of Mahāprabhujī since birth. So many things like that. In Kathu Ashram, someone performing pūjā at Mahāprabhujī's samādhi asked, "Please, can you bring me a radio?" We have a radio here too, but he wanted one to listen to songs. Everyone was listening to the radio, so he said, "Swāmījī, can you bring me a radio?" Then he said, "Please, can you bring me the radio?" I said, and then Mahāprabhujī said, what? Kurta, not a shirt—kurta. Mahāprabhujī himself was knitting yearly. I said, "Okay." He gave me this. The next day he said, "Next time, can you bring me a small one I can hold in my arm and listen?" He said, "It is Mahāprabhujī's water pot." I said, "What will I do with a water pot?" He said, "No, no, please, my maestro Nānjī, please, I give you this; bring me a nice radio." Okay. Then there was a very nice stick made from bamboo, with beautiful roots. He said, "Have you something for me?" I said I don't know what to bring. He said, "No, please, I want to bring something for the fire." I said, "No, no, please bring me five." I said, "Okay," and he gave me that street of Mahāprabhujī. Believe me or not, Mahāprabhujī's shirt is in the Vienna ashram, that stick is in the Vienna ashram, and the water pot is also there. Next time, I am very... how to say the words? I don't know. I want to take, and now, so also Mahāprabhujī's water, Mahāprabhujī's this, and what more? I wanted to tell this. So many things came from Mahāprabhujī. I am preserving them nicely everywhere. Then I said, "Do you have something from Mahāprabhujī? Do you have Mahāprabhujī's shoes?" He said no, but there were two or three old shoes there. I said, "Old shoes?" He said yes, Mahāprabhujī was there. How many? He said, "Two, three." I said, "Please give me at least two." One shoe of Mahāprabhujī's is in the pillow at the Mānasa Devī temple; the other I also have in my possession. So, you know, one should have value. Who has no value is nothing. So many things, many things. This is Mahāprabhujī's great blessing, so much blessing on us. For me, it is really Mahāprabhujī who has given me such and so much—everything he gave me. So, my dear, this holy water, even if you don't use it, leave it in your house. It means Gurujī, Mahāprabhujī is there. Hurry home, you are going, Karma Yogī, alright? Dobrije, Karma Yogī. Yoga, karma sukośalam. Yoga, karma sukośalam. If you want to be successful in yoga, you should perform sevā. So, my dear, many, many things. People who were there, or his family, have just forgotten. Now I have made Mahāprabhujī's samādhi and built an ashram there. You can see how hard it is—the Temple of the Holy Gurujī, the Temple of Alakpurījī, and Mahāprabhujī's samādhi is there. I made the samādhi for all Brahmanandīs, Sivanandīs, and all. You know that everybody, yes? So, thank you very much. Only those who know, know; others cannot. This was—I did not think I would talk about this at all. I was coming from here and there and wondered, "What will I talk about?" Okay, I have these papers; I will talk, see what is it? Then I put them away, but Mahāprabhujī took them from my hand, so the paper is here. Why? Thank you. Thank you.
