Live life in a natural way

The essence of living is to know how to live naturally and fully.

Life is more than eating, drinking, and sleeping. Humans have forgotten how to live, unlike village people who sustain themselves. Life originates from water and is interconnected with all nature. Many now lack basic skills like cooking or growing food, relying on systems that disconnect them from life's source. This dependence leads to helplessness. True living means engaging directly with nature to obtain and prepare nourishment. Modern conveniences and money have replaced this direct relationship, harming health and community. A natural life of cooperation, without reliance on bought goods, fosters health and happiness. Return to organic living, cooking at home, and family meals. Learn essential skills to be self-reliant and live positively.

"Life—eating, drinking, sleeping, and sometimes walking a little bit—that is not life. So, live life."

"Live life means not only eat and sleep and work; there is more than this."

Shrī Deep Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān kī Devajī Dev, Deveśvara Mahādeva. Harājī Bhagavān Swāmī Śrī Madhavānjī Bhagavān kī Om Śānti, Om Śānti, Om Śānti. Today is a beautiful day. At the beginning of the day, we will call for our crops to harvest. In other parts, like in India, it is the same. We know that after that, in Australia, New Zealand, etc., a different environment comes. And also, in America, Mexico, etc. Jīva. Živá planéta. We are jīvā, the life of the globe. Similarly, we tell ourselves, as our whole body. Our body has all the same environments in different parts. It’s not that we can see whether this is exactly the same or not, but we have to go through the earth. We are coming from the light of the Sūrya and Chandra. Both Sūrya and Chandra are in our body. In that way, when we come to talk about yoga, we should also understand our body inside and out, and around our body. Now, in this, what we need is that if we want to live and have a happy and nice time, we have to come to the general way of living. We don’t know how many people don’t know how to live, and we should try to live. Life—eating, drinking, sleeping, and sometimes walking a little bit—that is not life. So, live life. I was thinking today, very early morning when I got up, and it came to me: live life. Live life. How, when it’s beginning, we don’t know. But nature, God, has prepared ourselves. You may call it God, or the environment, etc. But we have to come higher. Something has to grow, even in the water. Jīva is mostly in the water. Many times we say, here in this country people are saying, and that is called about the water. Then what is that we call? Water is life. So water is life, and life is water. It is together. We call: where there is life, there is God. Where there is God, there is water. And where the water is, there is Jīva. That Jīva is living in the water. Without water, we can’t live. In this way, life begins. Every creature lives according to its feelings. They live according to their nature, and they know how to make a nest, or the animals, or the jīva in the water—not only one as a fish, but many, many creatures. Once there was a globe; it was under the water. It was getting, getting slowly, slowly growing, growing. When the globe came up, it is said the Vara, the Bhagavān, the first god, or first that brought the earth out of water. That’s called the Vara animal. It has, like here, the horn from here. So he brought this on the water, and how did he do it? He took it and twisted it like that. It begins to roll clockwise, and so on the ocean, it was under the ocean and comes up, and it’s like a football, then rotating. So still, our earth is rotating. We think sunrise and sunset, but in reality, our globe is rotating. Surya is always there. Even the moon is there, but our Earth is moving and moving and moving. They all live in their life. Everything, reptilian—first was life in the water, reptilian, and then slowly other animals came. I’m sure you all know very well in your colleges, schools, everywhere. All learned to live on the earth. But now in this life, the humans have done great things. They’ve definitely done a lot. But now the main thing is that many humans did not, anymore in this life, know that they cannot live life. What do I mean by "live life"? For example, now in this situation, this corona and its infections, anything, many things, people have to go to the house, close from the house, live there. But now, how to live? There is no food inside. So many people died from hunger. They don’t know what to do. They want to go to the shop, and in the shop there is nothing inside. Likewise, but the village people, they did not die. They know how to live. That is different from what I said. The humans lost life. We should live life. It means that we can do all kinds of work in nature. In the forest, everywhere, there is life to get something. So many people would like to get food, but they don’t know how to cook. Also, this is, and if they will cook something wrong, it can become like a poison. So many, many people don’t know how to cook now. How to get the fruit, how to get the food, etc. It’s about 10 years, I think, 20 years, or maybe already, yes, that’s 18 years maybe. In America, I had a lecture in one college hall, and there were about 290 people there. I spoke about life and about food, and about animals—so from where food comes, how they are taking the animals, and they kill them, and this and that. While talking, there was one lady, and she began to cry. Her neighbor who was sitting gave her tissues for her tears, and then after, he said, "Swāmījī, I always get meat from the supermarket, not from the animals, not from the cow." Then I say, "From where did this meat come from there?" So it was. She got the knowledge that this meat, killing, is coming from the animals from outside, and she said, "I’m so loving animals, from little birds and this fish till the elephant. I don’t want to kill them." I was only in this market, I said, but what is your age? I’m 35 years old, and still you don’t know. And she still did not find it out, and she said no. In this way, she gave up, and she said, "Never, never will I touch meat, because living beings are killed and given to me." Also, she did not know how to make the bread. She didn’t even know how to bake bread. From where is the bread coming? Yeah, it’s coming in the boxes. Everything is very good. But how and where? And now, how to cook? Just cut something and put it in the water and salt inside. That’s all. So only such food do they eat; they are not healthy, and so they think, "I am living like that." But when she said, "How should I learn?" I told her, "I know somewhere you will learn." It was about 300 square meters, or not square, the kilometers—that’s a very nice little village, and people are living there very naturally. I said, "Go there and live there for half a year." She said, "Okay, I will go." She was working somewhere. She had money. So she gave up the job and went there. She said, "Where are you, deers?" The deer are here. The cows are here. The goats are there. So many birds, and all in the farm. She was so happy. She said, "I am now born here." She could go to the cows; they were milking themselves, and the goats, horse, everything. She said, "Now my family is here. Now I am human." She learned everything: milking, making yogurt, the butter, and getting the corn and other kinds of corn, grinding, making the atta, and then they’re making the bread, put in the oven, here comes the bread. So, 32 years old, because the people, they do not give this knowledge or anything to the children, that how they are killing the animals in the slaughterhouse. And otherwise, you will never, and never, you will see in great cities good people. They have so much humbleness inside; they are very, very good, but they have no education. Live life—so, live life means not only eat and sleep and work; there is more than this, and that is called... The human life, and in certain situations, how to live? Many die because they don’t know what to do. It was in Vienna, Austria, and then in another part of Austria, and there was one of my disciples. His one friend had a petrol pump, and they were coming to my yoga. That one person, every fourth day, had to come from a far distance, from Croatia to Vienna. He was staying two days, three days in the ashram, because his company had to work two, three days in the city. Unfortunately, that person died, so he tried to make something to live again, different. So, some people made one company, not a company, something where people come all together. Now they said, "We will not have money anymore. We will live without money. And we will have everything." Really, they did. So they came to the barber. So barber, you should cut our hair, but we don’t give you money. But others will come, for example, painting the house. So I cut your hair, and I will make your house. Like this, I will bring you a cow and milk. Others said, "I will build my house." Everything they are doing is work. Like this, making bread there, giving to all together this. Giving, eating. It was said that in ancient times, how people were living? Money was not there at that time. After, slowly, slowly, the money came. So we, our money, so money became like a god. We all, we are money. But before, it was not like that. When you are in the farmhouse, there are... Few cows are grazing grass. Birds are coming, they are sitting on them. Other birds are getting out some bugs. They are making nests. So they saw animals are coming together to the animals. Live there, and so are the humans too. I know, I live life that, in that my village, so everyone, they have many people, they have the cow at home, one, two, one, two cows, and they were giving milk, they’re making the curd, then they make butter, etc. There were some people who didn’t have cows. Without asking from the street people who are there, they bring milk: one little milk, other people one liter, half liter, quarter liter, etc. They want to make the butter. They are helping with this. Yes. So I was there. I’m living. I live there. So it is said, the milk and the child are the same. So we cannot sell our children. Means we don’t sell our milk, so we don’t sell the milk. Because it is the child of the cow, and we cannot sell that. So, like that was the feeling that all people were living together nicely, very happily. Then came the British. And then the British, they began to get a chai. In India, there was no chai. So they made the chai leaves in some part of India, then dried the leaves, then they made chai. We don’t know what this is. It was like a little drink, and then they were like this. So people said it is a drink, etc., etc. But slowly, slowly, the British, they put some officers, Indian. And they said, "Please come, time for tea." So the British said, "Time for tea." If someone is coming, they have to go somewhere on time, and some guest came. So the British said, "Please come, have the first cup of tea." But Indians are waiting. Doesn’t matter. They will wait for us. Likewise, tea came. Slowly, slowly, the Indians remained, oh, chai. These white people, they can drink chai. Slowly, slowly, they were taking also chai. Now they had to tea only black tea, but then some Indian give them, "Milk is better," so they were taking milk and then tea, black tea, white tea. Well, everyone wanted to drink tea. So, family, whole village people, they cannot give you for your coffee, teas. They give you milk for your children; drink the milk. Or you can make yogurt for your children. And chai, you are selling a cup of tea. Well, they said, "When you are selling, why should we give our milk?" And so they go to money, and others give them milk. So it happened that you sell their children. Because of the tea, they sell their child. What does it mean that you sell the child? And now the children do not have milk for them to drink. They had no butter, etc., because we’re selling. Now, everywhere milk is selling. Even they have at home two or three cows, and they have two or three children. But they will not give the milk to the children. They will sell it. And from that, they get money. Similarly, everything that happens. Tea is not healthy, coffee is not healthy. Best milk is destroyed with coffee. So you see that we, all we are here, tea drinkers. Before, it was not coffee, not tea. Maybe a little, you had a drink from the grapes, etc. But no tea. Tea came after. Coffee came after. You were healthy, and bread, butters, milk, fruits, organic everything, we. There was, I have heard, that in Western countries here, hardly people died before 100. 100 years, but they are still working on the farm. That was work. So they were not looking for the money. I have my cows, I have my farm, they are very happy. We have milk, we have the grain, the many fruits. My children, we are happy. The mother is cooking, the daughter is working to bring water, the children are getting fruits from there. Outside, the man is going and bringing good things. All are cooking nicely; everyone knows how to cook. Then they bring it on the plate, on the table, and sit and eat it. How healthy, how best. Then they are cleaning the plates. Children are sitting there. Mother is singing a song. Father is also, after a long, long time, also they come to tobacco. Coffee, tea, and tobacco. That had made the humans very, very weak. And then we learned sitting, and sitting, and sitting. Now, what will happen? Where will you go? And you don’t know how to cook, how to cook this. So for the last two or three days, I’ve been thinking. And I’m all the time, since I came to Croatia or the Czech Republic, always my way of eating, how to cook, how to eat, how to do. And all our yoga teachers, they are very good, they are cooking very good. Live life. Now the dress. And so sometimes the dress was starched, it tore. So our people will come, and they will all wear cotton, woolen. There was no plastic anything. When I was about 10 years old, that time I saw first time a shirt which was like, and we can wash it and dry it. No air, I need nothing. So someone had been smoking, and just one spark from the fire caught the billy. It fell on the dress. Within no time, a hole appeared inside. Yes. So you can see there are many, many people who smoke tobacco. They have holes somewhere here or there. So we got artificial things, and the artificial is not reality. In this dress, some little fire will play, fall down. People said, "Pshh," like this. It goes quickly, but plastic goes in, and if we catch it, it is a—pshh—here. So, please, we shall live life, making one subject in yoga in daily life. Live life, and I’m sure you can tell me many good things. Here, and eating was so good, tasteful. Grandmothers were loving to cook, and the children were waiting, and she said, "Wait, wait, wait." I lived here about 50 years. It was different, and now we are also different, my dear. So we shall always and always cook at home for your children. For your partners: husband can cook, wife can cook. Both can cook. Eat all together, so mother is here, grandfather is here, grandmother is here, and children are there. That is called that eating. That’s for mother’s, father’s nourishment. So please don’t run to the hotels. Of course, somebody will come with like this to me. So restaurants are good when we are somewhere and we have no place. Why not? We should do. They have good things, but not always run. That is also not healthy. There are some restaurants now; they will cook for you in front of you. They will cook. And many things is what they cooked and in the freezer. And not frozen, bring out on hot water and eat honey only. That’s it. Go outside. Now, of course, we have such big buildings like this, we cannot make a fire for cooking. So, okay, we have electronics, but still try to eat naturally. And this is because, let’s say you have learned all in the school, and they give eating also in the school. They just eat and go. Go further and go further, and suddenly all the schools blocked. All is blocked. Now, hospitals are also completely blocked. Of course, doctors are getting very rich. Why not? Because nobody gives them money? Then, at least they should give them money. They keep the money nicely. But sometimes, sometimes, you know, in your last second, war suddenly all money was like that. So people were making fire for the camels, see. That money was of no value, really. And sometimes, where I was, they show me so much, and a nice note, nobody wants. So they were making fire, for fire making. So we don’t know. Similarly, our body, we have nice oil, perfumes, nice this, nice that. And needles, this is a past life. They were like, but because there is some karma still there, and these animals, like also the cat, tigers, all these animals, they catch you, and all nails are red or yellow or brown. So this is one of the last lives, so something remained. So they are attacking this. Nails are good. Everywhere is dirt. When I’m little, my nail is long. I say, "Oh, it’s not wrong, not good." So this is fashion. First fashion, yeah? Moda. And you know moda? Moda means sādhu. Moda means one who has no hair. That’s moda. And that moda means sadhu, it has nothing. No one made the hair or no hair, same thing. Like this, we are living this, but live natural life, that is different. Many, many grandmothers sitting there, you call them babichka, did you see that? They are making like this. No. There were mothers, grandmothers, mothers. At that time, men were also there, but at least grandmothers went to the church in the morning and came to the church in the evening, like we are here and we make prayer. That was it. Ladies, grandmothers, they are very great. Yes. But now, where is the babička? No. So, my dear, live life. Live life. Natural. And, of course, we have too many people. So we have big cities, we should do, we should work, we should live life there also good, but we should know how, that’s it. Now, you know, there are many of us sitting here, this gentleman here, or Vasant also. So he will do everything very quickly. Hanumān Purī, everything he will do. But also there are ladies, we have that one girl here, Līlā. In Vienna, and she’s like a boy. Unfortunately, she became a girl. So she’s neither boy nor girl, because she has both sides’ power. She’s doing this, electric, this and that. And there’s another lady, a girl with him. I don’t want to tell. I will say Hari Om. Something is chim-cham-ching, that is okay. But do that technique’s work. So it doesn’t matter if you are male or female, or we should do everything. Of course, always we give. Man will give it to his wife, "Sit down, I’ll do it." That is a respect. That is a respect, but when the husband is not there, then children will be sitting hungry. No. She will go and milk. She will bring vegetables. She will do this. She will make yogurt. Everything. And going to the office. Working there, so we have to do everything. Come at home and learn. That is very, very important. And there are some people who cannot cook at all today. I’m sorry to say, our very nice friend, a very nice Swami Gajanan Swami, he lived here. He lived in Vienna, in India, and now he’s in India again, but he cannot cook. I don’t know, and he said, "I cannot cook." Two days he will be sleeping only, but he cannot cook. I know, it’s my disciple. That’s why I’m telling him, he will be hungry, angry. Doesn’t matter. He will be angry, but he will not cook. He’s hungry. So that’s why I said, live life. Live life well, relax, be peaceful, harmonious, friendly, everything. Live life. Of course, technology is going further and further. Now, my car is moving and suddenly stopped. I will make the brake layer and push it on the road. Doesn’t matter where it will go. But someone will sit down and make it work, and the car is going. This is the modern technology. They are going, they are helping, so there are good things, but it doesn’t matter, technology. But first, there is tomatology. Even the petrol needs for the car, so you should know that you are taking petrol or diesel or the water. Someone is putting in the kerosene, and some people, they are alcoholic. And the alcohol is very expensive, and people are driving the truck. They take one bottle and they drink, and they go, you can see. That means these people are dying; they want to die. The technique is very good, very, very good, and if I say this technology is... And if I would say that this technology is not good, I would be the first one crying. How will I come to India? No aeroplanes? Nothing? How long will we go there? You know, again, we will make the whole world spill it. Now it’s one world. That British aeroplane, they call it "one way." The one way, one will, so there. And we have different. So, the aeroplane takes me from here, Croatia, to Africa. From Africa, it is close to Austria. Fair Park, sit down here. From Brno, Czech, Prague, yes, we go to Prague. Sit comfortably, and they are giving coffee and chai. And we are there in Tokyo. That was only for a coffee, and we go further more. So this machine, technology, God, this gentleman, this all, I’m not making something wrong, but they should also know what to do. That I mean, that I said, so that if one cannot make a coffee, then what is that? And when one takes the coffee, then ask the liver. Ask the liver, "What is this? What did you put in my liver?" He said, "I want to destroy you." Now, slowly, slowly, so coffee is not good. Tea is also not good, but tea has milk, then it completely destroys, different. But coffee and milk, still, that is more not good. But everybody will see what the Swami is talking about. Yes, I’m saying what it is. Sometimes you can take coffee, one cup in someone’s marriage, or take a tea. Sometimes come to the Swāmījī and practice yoga, and then a little coffee or chai, chai... Which is not good, also I know that somehow I also do not get all food like it’s very pure, but from our garden here, and you are all here, definitely in this week you get very pure food, potatoes, very good. Everything is good, but how to cook that is it? Learn, learn to live life. And that much for this and for that. And here is something: here is a scorpion, and here is something. Do not touch your body, so I am sure that some ones are not happy, and even I told they will do, and this is not only here in the Ashram, but also around the world, and I’m saying around the world. All the same thing, to live healthy, live life. Of course, I don’t talk about these spices; some like chilies, one doesn’t like chili. Some like salt, one doesn’t like salt. This is a different thing. But please, all we should have organic. Our cows should be organic, our cows in Jadan and in other ashrams. Organic, and one of our doctors, Shanti—you know, Doctor Shanti—and she will not be angry if I tell now that she likes chai or coffee, but she cannot take this milk. Here in Europe, he cannot drink the milk, even. And when she comes to India, and Jadan, she is not only coffee, she can drink milk, eat yogurt, and everything from milk, and he likes it, and that is because they are all organic cows, very nice, so we hope. We hope very highly learned people that they will again come back, think one day, "Organic, organic, organic," and we come back. So at least you should live life, as I said, positive. So take time for one hour cooking and then eating. Family, children, whatever, and two hours for your yoga practice, meditation, health. In this way, three hours we shall live for our body, and the rest, of course, for the whole. Many, of course, many people, they are not, they are not doing purposefully. Any ministers or any people, they are not doing purposefully. They all try to do life, a good life, for themselves, for their families, and for their people, their nation, etc. So, my dear, live life.
