We should take one step further

A time for unity and caution requires spiritual progress.

This period brings both celebration and sorrow. While many observe festive traditions, a global pandemic has caused immense suffering. Physical precautions like distancing are necessary for safety. Traditional greetings like namaste respect this need. All prayers, regardless of language or tradition, share a single essence. At death, the soul is liberated from the body and its distinctions. Concepts of heaven and hell are transient states, not permanent. Divine love is unconditional, like that of a parent. The inner light of the soul is universal and identical in all. Current practices must evolve toward deeper, inward meditation. An initiation will be offered to longstanding students to awaken their inherent divine nature, though self-knowledge remains incomplete. Persist in spiritual practice with faith.

"Different countries, different traditions, different religions, different meanings—everything. But they are doing the same thing we are doing."

"Yes, you are God. You are Guru. You are a disciple, but you still do not know what you are."

Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīp Nārāyaṇam. Oṁ Namaḥ Śrī Prabhu Dīp Nārāyaṇam. Haṁsabhādas Prabhu Śaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Haṁsabhādas Prabhu Śaraṇa Parāyaṇam. Śrī Dīp Nārāyaṇ Bhagavān Kī. Good morning, all dear sisters and brothers. All yoga practitioners and teachers from different countries, you are most welcome, and I am very happy. These have become holy days for me. There are two things. We are very happy that very soon you have the Christmas ceremonies, and we are worshipping Jesus and the Holy Mother. This is the time, in December, when all are very happy, coming together, remembering each other, and sending letters across distances to share happiness. On the other side, we know this year was not so good because of the corona and similar diseases. Many people died in some countries and places—in Africa, America, and many, many countries everywhere. They had no place in hospitals, and not even a place for a grave when someone died. They were putting four or five people together in plastic and putting them down. No family members could go. Here in our Czech Republic and Slovakia, there were many corona problems; maybe a few or some died. But your government managed very nicely. All people stayed at home, not going away. The government was very controlled and very nice, protecting its citizens. We do not know how long this will happen, but we have to control ourselves, which you have heard many times. They write in newspapers, and doctors and governments all say that in some place, or on a bus, or anywhere, just touching a hand can transmit corona. So it is said, and you know, to keep at least a one-and-a-half-meter distance. No hugging, no kissing. When we Indians and other Asian people greet, even on airplanes, they say "namaste." When we say it here, like this, they all ask, "What is that?" I have explained many things, and you know this. The first thing is that our hands are free, and you and I are together. In our heart, we are saying, "Good morning, good sir," or "Praṇām," or "Vážený Pane," or "Namaste," or anything else. One person made very beautiful hands, and these prayers are only like this one. That is also said by the Father of Jesus; he was saying like this. Another thing is we are protecting ourselves from other kinds of infections. But many people, even in India, now say "shake hands." In India, we did not used to say "good morning," but now they come to Western culture. Many ladies, to ladies also, they are saying. Ladies and gentlemen are shaking hands like that. In Britain, they will not shake hands. When one says, "Who is older?" and gives the hand, then we should give the hand. We should not give the hand to females in British culture. Maybe if a lady comes and offers her hand, then you should take it. The traditions here in Europe also involved not shaking hands. When a higher person greets a younger person, they would hold your hand like this, but not fully—only a little, like this. That was a kind of respect but also a way of keeping distance from any kind of disease. But now, at times, we do not want to say anything; we just go and hug and so on. Or a strong man takes the hand of a weaker one and says, "Look, how's the girl? Good morning," and the other one is, you know... So we have to learn ourselves. For about one or two years, we should be careful. If someone comes close to you, step a little back. People here now—not you, but all here—when told to wear a mask, they will do it. But when they go out of the room, everybody comes close, laughing and so on. So now I am not giving a lecture, but still I wish very much that we should keep our distance from these coronas, these infections. We said, "Speak nicely, everything, humbleness, kindness, your children, your grandparents." In your house, we have to clean and spray; that is very important for us. And so when you practice your āsanas, prāṇāyāmas, and your prayer, remember that prayer is the most powerful thing. Any prayer which you like, because finally it is only one. Different countries, different traditions, different religions, different meanings—everything. But they are doing the same thing we are doing. It is only the language that is different. You may say, "My religion is different, my thoughts are different," etc. But when one will die, it does not matter who is who. A great saint or a normal person, when they go out of the body, then the soul, the jīva, they all will come to one door, and that will go where it should. They speak of one being hell and one being heaven. How long will people live in hell, and who will live for how long in heaven? They do not know. They think they are terrible things, that we will go to hell and be tortured. But how long? How many lives? Many ages. But one day you will come out. It is like being in prison; you have to go out. Or if they say that they will die, there will be a time when you come back. Nobody is here on this earth forever. Everyone is making new things. The animals are better. Every bird knows its discipline. If the elephant is an elephant and the tiger is a tiger, but humans make many, many... what we call differences. So when the body is gone, then the jīva, the soul, or ātmā, is free. They will come to the next life. I would not say that they are in torture after life. I would not say that after death there is some pain, some torture. What kind of problems will we make there? Is it water, or is it air, or is it space? Humans are making all differences very much. We are making a lot of fear. Someone asked me, "I came to you, Swamijī, because I do not want to ever be in hell. Will I come out again?" I said yes. But others said, "No. On our earth, it is the rotation. Our earth is moving. We think the sun is moving. No, the sun is there, but the earth is moving. Why is there dark night, and why is there light day? When we go out of the sunlight, we go into the black dark. Will we always be there? No, it will come back again." For example, you have a bike, and you have one wheel of the bike. One part of this wheel is on the earth, and the other is on the top. Will that remain ever there? As we move, what is down comes up, and who is up will come down. So heaven and hell are only what we are doing. But since it will come and go, that is why it is said, "Guru and disciple." You can say guru, you can say saint, you can say God, etc. The first is your father, who is coming from space. Then, coming to the five elements, and then the mother. So the mother and the father will not put you in hell. It does not matter how naughty your child is; parents will love them. Similarly, God loves us. Gurudev loves us. That is why we all come here. We should know this and hold ourselves. Then be sure, it does not matter which God you worship; it is very good. And the same—this God, that God—they all are one. Whenever the jīva, our soul, goes out of the body, then our body is nothing. Animals may eat it. We will burn them, cremate them, etc. That is the thing, but the jīva is going there. And jīvas are the same. For example, we have here a ball with a light inside, but this light is the same. Light is the same; it does not matter if it is a little bulb or a big bulb. Therefore, we should now come a step further. We are practicing āsanas, prāṇāyāmas, meditations, and yoga nidrās. But now you have to come to a high level. In the summer seminars, we will have some techniques that will be real meditation. Because now we are making meditation okay; we are concentrating, we see the light, the home, the water, the light, the flowers, etc. But this is all outside. Where are you inside? And where is the inside? And who is the inside? That we will do in our seminars so that you will come high. For those who have been with us for about five or six years or more, I will give them one initiation. Your hands will be like my hands, coming. But do not say that I am God now. Do not say I am guru now. Yes, you are God. You are Guru. You are a disciple, but you still do not know what you are. There are many things, and you have time now. This is for you, to give you something. We do not know who is who, or when we will go. I have lived here many, many years in these countries, and I know there are thousands of our brothers and sisters in your country here. So we shall come further. Someone who does not like it, they do not know how to go, so they make negative thinking. They go out, and then, of course, they are on a different path. We do not know if there is coming hell and heaven, but one day they will also come out again. So somewhere we will make very nice, many things, as long as Mahāprabhujī will give to me and also to you. So practice your mala. Mala is what I call the passport of the cosmic self. I am so happy to see you. For three days my heart has been beating, knowing that you are coming. It is like little children coming from kindergarten; parents are so happy that their child is at home again. So this is nice, thank you. Oṁ Nata Karta Mahudita Śānti Śānti...
