Only Guru can change our destiny

Karma and destiny are unchangeable by any being, yet the Guru's grace can alter one's path. Karma accumulates over many lifetimes. Selfless service is its true basis. No individual, regardless of power, can change ordained destiny. The story of a powerful figure illustrates this. He controlled gods and elements but could not command the divine scribe of fate. This scribe writes every being's destiny before birth. The figure demanded a glorious destiny for his child. The scribe wrote what was ordained, not what was demanded. The resulting destiny manifested perfectly, contrary to all desires and power. This demonstrates that written destiny is final. However, the true Guru possesses the grace to change what is written. This power comes from the lineage, not the individual. Do not despair over destiny. The Guru's grace can rewrite it.

"Karma is only then if we have Seva."

"Guru can change nobody. Guru can change Abhagama."

It is a beautiful day. Neither cold nor hot. And it is our great fortune that we are always near the altar of Mahāprabhujī, Devpurījī, Mahāprabhujī, and Holī Gurujī. We are all gathered together in one place. It was very nice today, and you have already performed two very nice Anuṣṭhānas. Our practices are a learning for becoming a yoga teacher. And regarding the many workings of karma, as we were told yesterday also: with Guru Kṛpā, with Guru Devakī Kṛpā, then everything will be. So, karma. Karma is only one. Karma. Even God Himself has within His power what we call karma. And karma is from many, many lifetimes. Seva. Therefore, Seva. Karma is only then if we have Seva. How will the karma go, and how can we change it? Some karma, where it is, no one can change. There is one story. It was written, and it is a reality. Long, long years after the Satyugas, in the Dvāparayuga, that time was Rāvaṇa. Rāvaṇa was a brāhmaṇa. He was a great, greatly learned person. No one is like Devahīm, but only after that, his ego. And ego felled him down. It is said that Rāvaṇa attained such great power of prāṇa and performed many powerful meditations that all the lesser gods and goddesses came under Rāvaṇa's control. Only Śiva could not be controlled. It is said he could do many things; it is a long, long tale. He could go anywhere. He could change his body. You know all that. If not, we could play it here again, but that would take at least two weeks to learn, two hours per day. It was very much. Anyhow, he could command anybody, and they would have to do it. But there is one thing he could not control: karma. That karma, no one can change karma. And we know that karma is good or bad, but sometimes we hide inside and talk about others' karmas. That time when you think something negative about someone's karma, that karma first comes to us double. Karmas: one person had only one karma, but we get from that karma through negative thinking, and from itself also, double karmas. Whether you believe it or not, karma said it is nothing under you, it’s not under you. So everything that we have, we all sitting here, we know many things, and we are not out of that karma. You know, I know, they know, we know. And so, because Rāvaṇa was also... he had the karma, but he didn’t want to accept it. Then, Vidhātā—it is that one, we can say God or power or whatever it is. She is the one who will decree whenever a child is going to be born. Before we come out from the mother’s womb, she will write the kismat. And there, you have to be very controlled. I am talking lecture, I will call you. Thank you. So that Vidhātā, she will write our destination before the child is born. And she knows that is all. The Ātmā came to one body, where? It can be in animals, birds, fish, leopards, or humans. Everyone has their destiny. And destiny, from where is it coming? The stain is coming from karma. And who, how will try to do something? It will be given to our life in embryos, and when it will be born, a child, at that time, when the child is just coming out from the womb, from the mother, she is writing already, destiny. We can’t see her, and she doesn’t stop them. All work is going on, but she knew before already. The color, the body, the eyes, the hair, what will be, everything is there. So, you have also, everyone. You are with this Vidhātā. Moving like this, let’s move like this. Thank you. Because, you see, even an ant has its destiny, but I’m not going so far. We are talking about humans. And that was that Rāvaṇa. It is said that Rāvaṇa’s whole palace was made of gold. And many others, they had to be in his office, in his work, in his place. Śiva’s not Śiva, but the other. All, anyone can come. He can call him with power to stay here. Who is bringing the rain? And the rain will come. And it is called the power of Indra, and Indra can bring the rain or not. But Rāvaṇa could say to Indra, "Stop near here." Sādhana? Practice? Very, very steady, very practiced. So one day, after noon, about five o’clock in the evening, five, six, he was sitting outside his very nice palace, and there was a door to go to. Rāvaṇa’s wife was giving birth, and so the Vidhātā—Vidhātā is everything, you know—and she was telling what happened. What are these? Everything. So she was going into his house. We don’t see the body, nobody. She is just a spiritual person, or God, or something. But Rāvaṇa said, "Who is here? Where are you going?" Then the Vidhātā said, "Rāvaṇa, I am Vidhātā. Why are you going in my house? Because your wife is giving birth to a child. And I will write destiny." "Who are you to write? I am." He said, "Yes." Vidhātā said, "Yes. But I have to write." He said, "Okay, Vidhātā, go. But write everything good for my son. Otherwise, you know, from the whole universe, I will catch you," he said. "Even I have written your destiny." But she said, "So what? Okay, but let me know what you have written." After a few minutes, she came out from the house again. The child was okay, born. She had written the destiny. And then she was coming, and he said, "Rāvaṇa." She said, "What did you write for my son?" He said, "I can show you. I’ll show you. Why did you, how did you write? It’s not in my hands to write. I had only my pencil. Yeah, this was in my hand, and my fingers, only they were writing. I would tell for you as what you want, but destiny is, this is a destiny. Always, when you go, make something here also. Let’s say a test. We go for the test, corona. Also, we have this paper, this pen, and this pen is... this is the destiny." He said, "I will tell you one day how my son will be, and one day my son will be there, and Vidhātā, then I will bring you here, standing in front of me, and then I will punish you in the fire. Is my son here? Yes. Go. Tak choď." So wait a minute. The destiny was not... "What is your, how is my daughter?" Rāvaṇa said. Vidhātā said, "Your son is beautiful, son, son." Yeah, not daughter, the son. And that is so beautiful. There was a daughter, not a son. It was his son’s daughter, the daughter was born, excuse me. Beautiful daughter. Everyone will see that. "Oh my God, I could manage with her. But I will bring such a boy that will be the best of the best in the world for my daughter’s marriage." Well, after when she was about 20, 25 years, that girl. And he said, "Go, please." He sent many, many people. "Bring me some great king, the best, beautiful marriage for my daughter." So many went to bring their daughter from that garden called the dead. They’re standing some far from this far, this far. But when that boy came, that girl said, "No." And Rāvaṇa said, "I want to have my daughter married in one year already. Come." Many people came, but nothing was. That destiny. So that king, there was a great king, and he had no children. But they got one day, one child. The child was not so beautiful at all. Beauty is a heart inside, nothing outside. But there was one child, and he could not walk properly. Also, with the hands, he can go like this. And it was from some sweeper’s child, a sweeper who is cleaning. So they saw the child was not good. So they put one wooden, very nice box, and a little cloth, everything, and put it in the ocean. A little milk, what is it? Bottle. They left, and it came from the other shore. It’s a long story. Should I make a mango? Or should I close it? So they put it in the ocean. And that box, very nice, beautiful box, wood. And no water comes in, and so, fluttering. Coming on the other shore. And that day, that king and queen, they always went there swimming. And that one day, they said, "There is something coming." So the box, he said, "It’s my box, I will take." The queen said, "What is inside is mine." And they came. They opened, and there was a child, a little beautiful child. All children are beautiful. And she took the child, and the king said, "Oh, very good." He said, "It’s my son." His wife, the queen, said, and they took it home to the palace nicely. Cleaned this, that, the doctors come and everything. A great king’s child, son, now. The destiny bought the destinies, and so that child became young. He was not so good physically, but now he is the king’s child. He became the king’s. And so people were searching, searching. They did not find any good child for the king. So some people came from somewhere near the other side of the world, very far, and they went to the king, the king of Rāvaṇa, and said, "We would like to marry your son to Rāvaṇa’s daughter." They said, "OK, very good." And it took a long time to come. So they have very nice dresses and jewelry, and like this, the king’s son. And they gave a beautiful villa for them to live there. And who said? Rāvaṇa said, "Can I see the son for my daughter? How is it?" The people who were there said no. That king said, "My son, you think that I want to see me? Am I like that? We go back." Rāvaṇa said, "Okay. Next day will be the marriage ceremony." And that will be about nine o’clock in the night, many playing and these and great things. And they put it, his son nicely said, "Stand up." No, he doesn’t walk. Don’t tell him that he will walk here and there. He will sit like this, and they made the marriage with the fire. But we have ceremonies three times, yajña three times. She is walking first, and then comes the bedside. It’s all beautiful, it’s all gold and this and that. It’s great. And the girls were very beautiful, and many men, jewelry and everything. After the ceremonies, he said, we shall take my daughter to their villa. They said, "No, no, our king’s son, he doesn’t go always." And they said, "No, the king’s son can’t visit the king’s son." Then, morning seven o’clock, my king’s son will come for breakfast, and she also should come, and they will see each other. So everybody walked very nicely, and people who saw them, this king and the others, fall down anywhere, otherwise the Rāvaṇa will kill them. So they brought this boy and the girls into their very nice palace. He cannot get up. His hands are like this, color is not good. And from the mouth, water falls. She said, "What is that?" "It’s your husband." And comes the Rāvaṇa. "Where is my wife’s son, my brother’s and my daughter’s son? But it is a marriage, so now you cannot pull him away. He is her husband, doesn’t matter how it is. Pūjā was there, mantras and everything, so Vidhātā, how is that boy? Can you tell me?" They said everything. What was body is not good, color is not good, and Vidhātā said, "I told you this. Pens he has written, I was holding only my hand." So he said, "My kismat." Who said Rāvaṇa? "I could get destroyed everything. But it is my daughter’s son, so I can’t do anything as well." So, destiny. Everyone you hear, everyone hears all, including myself. And your children, your husband or your wife, and their parents. Everywhere in there is the destiny with this pencil. So my dear, don’t think that I cannot do something. But then it comes with the other, and Paramatmā, that can change nobody else. But how? Yes, don’t cry, don’t do, don’t run away, don’t die. If you die, it will come again. Therefore, there are some bhajans. One great saint, and he was with the black, black eyes, and he was a very nice bhajan. How is it that? Vidhātā. Vidhātā. Destiny. Destiny. But in this destiny, there is one. It is said, "Guru can change nobody. Guru can change Abhagama." So there is that which Guru can change. But not gurus like me. I am, but he has given me the blessing of that Guru. And so many times it is happening, what I tell you, you are coming to me and I am giving you something, but it is not me. It is Mahāprabhujī, Devapurījī’s, Holy Gurujīs. And then this right inside, you have in your palm, hand palm, and this hand also, that is written already in the foot soles also, and then it is written, and they stand here. Now, you know what is a kismat? Everything is here, but that Guru can change. Yes. It will take how many years, and everything will go out. So when we make some letter and we write here something, you, me, and others, we want to have this house, but then we didn’t like it, or we were sitting the same, we were signatures, but we were not happy at the same time. So what the one said had person put it, cut it? Yes, we have cut it. Yes, good, good. Everything, but every did not, and we agree they are not properly, then we deleted, delete in this. Yes, and but it is said also, and the paper we can do anything. But you know that everyone, everyone, you know, we all know everything. And that is the best signature, the thumb. And all we can make now is somewhere, and let’s see, no one is equal. And that’s why, when it’s a very good thing and I pray, then it is, I have to give with the thumb. Yes, this is that. So don’t think that one cannot read and write. Many people were telling, but this is here. It is your, our destiny is in this thumb. Everyone, and that is inside. So now, then what will come? So that is everyone’s, our kismet. Our path we try to come now, whom killing, not killing, who is eating, not eating. That everything, there is another very nice story of Holī Gurujī’s book. So many Holī Gurujī made next time, but for the future. Sattva guru aaya, amrita jala vārasāya. Amrita nirāpīyā māna vārake, amrita nirāpīyā māna vārake. Irbhaya ne chalataya bhavahamma gurusharanasaya. Agaralīrasamaya Chanakya, Chanakya,... Chanakya.
