Practicing Prnayama

The forest is an ideal setting for sādhanā, offering oxygen, peace, and natural beauty. Practice here with eyes closed to avoid distraction. Sit comfortably with your mālā and guru mantra. Recall the day you received the mantra and your progress since. The sounds of wind, trees, and birds support inner focus. Complete your mālā and then practice specific breathing techniques. Focus on alternate nostril breathing as instructed, followed by Brahmari prānāyāma. Conclude with stillness and a closing prayer.

"When you are sleeping under the trees, the tree tells you, 'Wake up.'"

"Forget all different kinds of things in the family, or in the city, or in work. You are yourself, with all."

We have this whole wide area here. When it is a little cold, we have so many of our beautiful trees. Different countries describe things differently, but we will speak of it now as a mother would. It is a little warm, sunny, and beautiful. We are under the tree. When I see these countries and hear these trees, I realize we have many, many blessings from the trees. We are happy about this forest—the greenery, the oxygen, the cleanliness, everything. So, in this setting, when you were practicing this morning in Anuṣṭhāna, you had very peaceful, very spiritual, important, and very good techniques. Our hall, Sangam Hall, was very good. That early morning time is neither too cold nor too sunny. It is just about two hours. I think you can do sādhanā here, but you should not then look at the trees. Oxygen is very important, because there in the big hall, people are like sleeping. Many, many are sleeping like this. And here, when you are sleeping under the trees, the tree tells you, "Wake up." Oxygen is connected with our trees. I think that will be for tomorrow. If you want, if no rain is coming, you can practice here. We had another point there, but here is the best. We will see where it is very good. Now, we will all do some practice. Sit in a very good, relaxed, comfortable place. Sit yourself comfortably. You can take your mālā and your guru mantra. Practice your Guru Mantra through your mālā. If you want, see the whole beauty of this āśram, or close your eyes and do your mālā. The musical instruments should not be put in the sun. Bring this instrument under the tree. Go ahead, you should do your mantra. Feel your body very comfortable, very relaxed. Now, with this, you are very comfortable practicing your mantra. Remember which day you got your mantra. How were you feeling at that time? How many miles have you come further? From the day you received your mantra from me, and how many times you were joyful—sometimes in some situations, it was only your mālā. It is said in this forest, the beautiful sound of the different kinds of trees and leaves is brought to our ears. Also, many different birds are dancing. We hear this beautiful bird sound, and your ears... that is like also the sound of your ears through the brain. And many from our body’s voice, or sound of your body, a very pleasant feeling—we are sitting under the sky. Forget all different kinds of things in the family, or in the city, or in work. You are yourself, with all. The sound of the wind, the sound of the trees, the sound of the birds... but you are within thyself. Cvičení yogī, and karma sādhanā—be in that yourself. When your mālā is complete, coming to our sumeru, then put your mālā in your neck. Bring your concentration towards the breathing system. Very clean, very pure. This wind, air. The breath. A breath. Oxygen. Oxygen. Normal breath, but understand: inhale and exhale. Inhale this oxygen through our whole body. Our lungs are purified very much through this air from here. I know, I inhale and I exhale. Those who have completed your mālā, then breathe with one nostril. This means the left nostril. Only with this nostril, inhale and exhale. Do not take too much breath, and not too long an exhale, but feel your lungs completely full, and exhale with the same nostril. Inhale and exhale with the left nostril. Do not breathe too much. Exhale all. Now place your hand on the knee and breathe with both nostrils in and out. Again, with the ring finger on the left nostril, comfortably inhale and exhale with the right nostril. Place the hand back down on your knee and breathe with both nostrils comfortably, inhale and exhale. Again, with the index and middle finger of the right hand, inhale through the left nostril, exhale through the right nostril. Inhale through the left nostril, exhale through the right nostril. Inhale through the left, exhale through the right. Go ahead, go ahead. Inhale left, exhale right. With the left nostril we exhale, with the right nostril we inhale. Follow your breath. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the left nostril. Inhale to left, exhale right, inhale right, left heel, exhale left, inhale left, inhale left, exhale right, inhale right, left heel, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left... Inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Left, inhale. Left, inhale. Right, inhale. Inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale left, inhale right, inhale left, inhale right... inhale left. If your right hand is tired, utilize the left hand. God gave us two hands. Exhale through the left nostril and place your hand on the knee. Now, sit in Vajrāsana if you can. If you cannot, then sit in another position. Then, with closed eyes, do brahmari prānāyāma five times. Pětkrát. After five times, place your hands on your thighs. Concentration on the sound of the Brahmari still. Close your eyes. After ten times, place your hands on your thighs and listen to the brahmari sound still within yourself. Both hands together, fold in. Sat Namaḥ Upādhyāya Nāhaṁ Karatā Prabhudīp Karatā Mahāprabhudīp Tahī Kevantī Śānti Hari Om
