God is the giver

Practice is essential, and grace is fundamental.

Your spiritual practice is vital. If you claim no time for practice, you claim no time for eating. Food is crucial for all beings, yet we are not the providers. God provides. He determines the rains and the harvests. That unseen force cares for all. Do not be proud, for you achieve nothing alone. Different names for the divine are good. We must love all creatures. Our visible practice is one aspect; the other is inner contemplation. All beings, even elements, contain the divine essence. Life is temporary. We strive for oneness, peace, and harmony. Our actions accumulate, but the final outcome is uncertain. We must pray, do good for all, and cleanse negativity. The cycle of time, like the moon's phases, continues. Be happy, live with joy, and be good to all.

"If you have no time to practice yoga or anything, then it means you also have no time for eating."

"We are ātmā, the soul, for everyone. How many animals, etc.? Fire also, water also, earth also—every second."

The bhajans were beautiful. There are beautiful bhajans for Guru Pūrṇimā. In India, we have the season called "Mansum" when the rains come. Here, rain can come at any time, so we have no special name for it. We have only snow and rain. It is all good. Everything is good. Your practice, your anuṣṭhāna, was very good. Thank you. Today I went to Brno, and perhaps I must go again the day after tomorrow. That is good. Tomorrow there is a Kriyā Dīkṣā for those who wish to receive Kriyā. We have spoken much about this, and most of you know this Kriyā Sādhanā. Some cannot do it due to much work. But it is said: if you have no time to practice yoga or anything, then it means you also have no time for eating. If you cannot do it in the morning, you will not have breakfast. At lunchtime, if you have no time for practice, you have no time even for food. In the evening, for dinner, you have no time for your sādhanās. So, will you take your lunch and dinner, or do you want to fulfill the wishes for the life of your life? Food is very, very important for everyone, from the elephant to the ant. And it is said: who are we that we can feed everyone? Sometimes, some people have nothing to feed. So it is said, do not think you are great, that "we are feeding ourselves." No. For us too, it is God who is feeding us. He determines which year it should be, where the rain should fall, and when we can have food and fruits. If there is no water, there are no fruits. It is said this applies from the elephant to the ants. That is what we call our God, however you conceive of Him—God, or whatever. That One is always taking care of us. We cannot see Him, but He sees everyone. He knows where and what is happening, and He does not desire otherwise. Thank you very much. God knows everything: when, how, and where He is acting. So, do not be proud of yourself. But you can be proud that God gave you a lot... then it is okay. So who is the giver? The giver is God. Different countries and different religions have different names for God. Why not? It is good. The birds too are searching and waiting for the rain, as are all our grasses, trees, and fruits. And when there is much dust that we do not clean, when we are blocking something, then God has to act. He brings so much water. He cleanses everything and carries it to the ocean. So we should not say that God is not good. One has to understand this. That is why now, in every country, there are not so many people who pray before eating. When I first came to Europe, to Austria or Vienna or other countries, they would say a prayer to God before eating. Some had long prayers, some just said, "My God." Now, many do, but mostly they do not think. Because we think we are human and we can do everything; why should we think about God? God did not say that. God said, "I will be very happy and proud if you can do it all." God is not only on earth; He is in many, many places. On the sun, the moon, and many stars—everywhere there is something. They also need God to balance them. We cannot know this, but we know of it, so we call it Parabrahma. This word contains everything. Like the Muslims say "Allāh." And Allāh, you cannot see Him. But they say He is. Many other religions say something, and so we do. But many now do not, and that is why what is happening? Satya Yuga, Dvāpara Yuga, and Tretā Yuga saw the beginning of many, many religions, and then what we call now Kali Yuga. And it is said one day it will come that Kali Yuga will come riding on a horse, and he will have many things we do not know. It is said he will clean everything again, but before this, we will all come to the Brahmaloka. That is very important. Now, we should, according to our country, our tradition, and our different religions, worship accordingly. And we should all love the creatures. That is a very important thing. So on that day... I think we are practicing our sādhanās. We always have two kinds of practice: the visible, which we can see, touch, taste, and hear. But beyond this, we are only thinking. Many things we know, we say are for God. Many times, Christmas comes and all people come home together. Why? The first thing is the family together; children are happy, and we are all together and think of God. In this way, we have to learn ourselves. In India and here also, there are many religions. Christianity is also not only one part; they do different kinds of things but think of Jesus. In America, there are so many different religions. Everyone is doing their best in what they are thinking and doing. We also should be alert ourselves, that I should bring myself to Brahmaloka beforehand. There are many things. Even many, many creatures, animals, and humans are dying—by fire, water, air, etc. But there are certain ones that go very deep into the earth and can live life. That is what God makes. But Kali Yuga is for many things. It is coming; be very, very careful. We know in our own lives already how many times we have heard something, or experienced some kind of fire, or great heat, or dryness, or no water, or too much rain. Everything is there, but we cannot take it that way. So we do not know, and I also do not know. I am only repeating what many saints say. I do not know either. When we give up our life, we have to die. And when we are going, where will we go? On that side, it is all creatures, including humans. We are ātmā, the soul, for everyone. How many animals, etc.? Fire also, water also, earth also—every second. There, all at once, something happens, and it will come to oneness. Like the rain is coming, but only some drops. And somewhere it is raining very, very strongly. But it helps all the same. The dropping is ongoing, coming as warm water, but it is all one. Each drop will come together. Then it becomes all water, drip by drip, and it begins to flow. And so we do. Our feelings, our techniques, our life—how to live—everything is there. But in reality, all will come together. All the trees, grass... and when it will go, we do not know. What is living? The tree is living, the grass is living. But afterwards, we all do not know; we will go. Or we will be only in the sky. But we cannot say, "Hi, my friend. Hi, Gurujī." Om Śrī Rāmajī. Swāmījī. Neither will I see you, nor will they see me. And that language will not be this one. There is not that language. I do not know what language it is, but all is one. So that is what the Gurujī said: one in all and all in one. So that is what we are all doing in our sādhanās. Is that all we want to become? To become beautiful and good and peaceful, harmonious as oneness. This is very important. We talk very much that is good. But suddenly, if somebody says something, then others will also say something negative. We fight. We do not want to talk. We say, "This stupid person," my neighbor is not good. Then how is it that you are not good? It is not so easy. Not easy, and everything is okay. For example, there is a water well about 100 meters deep, in many countries in India, and there is water. With a rope, they take a basket and send it down to get two or three liters of water. They bring it all up—100 meters is very deep—and all are working. Only half a meter is left, and the rope breaks. What happened? It falls again into the well. Oh, God. Okay, it does not matter. But my rope is also gone, and the bucket is gone. Whatever I have done, all is gone. So it is like that. In our life, we did many things. Finally, it is coming now. Our time has come that now we will die, or we will go. But where will we go? So it is that we shall do mālā, always mantra, your mantra, and think good for all—not only for our parents or family, but for all, and also for all other animals. So that is that. It is like a parrot. We put the parrot in a cage. How many years is he there? We love him, we give him food, but he cannot go to his friends. The parrot has no wife, no husband. They cannot fly with full wings; their wings are also cut so they cannot fly. Many people go to other countries and tell the neighbors, "Please, can you give water and seeds for my parrot?" And when they come, they say, "Hello." Then, speaking a different language, they bring some fruits or something. But that is a prison. So many animals have also lost many things in prison. So, my dears, we want, and we should pray more and more. Here is not enough, and that is not enough. This means we will have done it for everything, for every creature. Everyone feels pain when we are killing them or when we are stepping on them. For that, what will we say? How do you know that it does not matter, that they are nothing? Who said it is nothing? This includes all grass, trees, etc. And water is also. Water is very powerful, and water is very, very clean and good, but on this earth we are making it dirty. So, in that way, when you are making programs and coming here, did you alone walk 100 meters? What do you think? What have you been thinking sometimes? Or did we go through our whole ashram? You think about birds, trees, some fruits, etc. But what is not more? Have you thought of something? We are already on some level. Little children are okay; they do not know it yet. And they have life left. But now when we walk, we will be slow. It will become that we are very tired. When we say, "I am tired," in which way does not matter. Yes, now there are only a few steps left to come. Then where will we go? So in sādhanā, in practicing, you have to think, I have to think, we have to think, how we will do. Of course, we have to be for everyone, helping everyone. And we will do something; we will be happy together. We are human; we are not only birds. All animals also love each other more, but we should also, and we are doing, but this is very different. But now the time is different. This is temporary. What is next? Walk, walk, walk. And we come to the very water well. And there is no path, and it is very deep. We do not know if it will be water, or stones, or some different things—stones, or animals, cobras, tigers. We do not know. We pray. We should really pray. Only God will give us, and [it depends on] what we have done. So please, we say, clean away all the dust of the negative things to others. If one is like that, you should also be like that. And so in these days, you are doing your sādhanā for yourself, your wife, or your brother, your husband, mother, father, etc. We are for also, and we will go further. This is the day. So that was, it is called, the coming of Guru Pūrṇimā. And this Guru Pūrṇimā—Pūrṇimā, complete Pūrṇimā. One day, only one day of dark moon, and then again comes the light, and it becomes the complete moon, and again, day by day, it goes back to the dark. So when we are thinking, why are we talking so much about the moon? It gives us immense knowledge. And the moon is very close to us. There are many other stars, unbelievable where we are and how we will be. Sometimes we will come together, maybe 500 of our friends in the Himalayas somewhere in heaven, and suddenly one person said, "No, we are Gurudev." Oh, we all come, become big and big and big. We become very big, like a moon. It means good times. Everything will be very good. So, my dear, how many days? Only four days gone? And now, Guru Pūrṇimā is coming. Birds are also coming. This year we will have Guru Pūrṇimā here. And, of course, every Guru Pūrṇimā will be here also. Many bhaktas will come, many sādhus will come, and it will be over. So that is very important. And be happy. Live with happiness and joy, and be good to all. Satsaṅg dharma kī Jai.
