Evening satsang from Strilky

Seek peace in a remote, serene place free from pollution and distraction to turn the senses inward. Desires are the cause of all suffering, tormenting the mind like wild animals. The spiritual path requires following the teachings of great masters to escape these inner defilements. Guru Pūrṇimā honors the master-disciple tradition, a living connection to divine wisdom. This gathering is for sincere practice, not criticism or worldly pursuits. Maintain punctuality and uncompromising quality in your spiritual discipline.

"The desires are the cause of all troubles."

"Carefully decide, and that’s a lifelong decision, not changing."

Achala Rāmjī Mahārāja kī jai, Ma Maṇḍaleśvara Vārtī Svāmī Maheśvarānanda Purījī, Viśva Gurudeva kī jai. So, first of all, our humble salutation to the Lord of our Siddhapīṭha, Gajananjī Mahārāj. Lord Gajananjī should always be remembered first. Then, Ālak Purījī, Dev Purījī, Mahāprabhujī, Holy Gurujī, humble salutation, prostration, and our humble prayer for the successful Anuṣṭhān for three weeks here in our beautiful ashram, Mahāprabhu Deep Satsaṅg Foundation, Strelky, Czech Republic. Beautiful nature, very peaceful, far from civilization, and a very big park, good air. It’s a blessing to be here. Yesterday I was thinking about many tourist places in the desert or seaside, but, you know, all these tourist spots are overflowed and polluted. Polluted, the mental pollution, and physical pollution, and the sound pollution. Many people who go to the seaside now, in July and August, these two months, many come disappointed. They are sorry that they went there. Because there is no ethic, no moral principles, no one cares about no one. You are no one, but you are only that one who should spend money. So nowadays, very little places remain where you can be peaceful. In yoga, in spirituality, it is mentioned always. Advise a kṣetra, a kṣetra means somewhere remote area, serene peace, sound pollution no, physical pollution no, and no mental. That was always described and mentioned in Vedas or Purāṇas, all the Purāṇas. There are 108 Purāṇas, but main Purāṇas are 18. And all the saints, ṛṣis, they had ekānt, peaceful. And slowly, slowly, you see, around the world, spirituality developing. Every religion, the monastery, or you can say āśrams, was created there where there was a peaceful atmosphere. There is automatically spiritual development. Automatically, peace within oneself, where no desires are coming out. Your indriyas and man, they are content. Your senses and your mind, because desires are the cause of all sufferings. Holy Gurujī’s favorite sentence: "The desires are the cause of all troubles." Desire, greed is desire. Ego, to have a certain position, is also desire. Many, many desires. So humans try to come there where indriyas are antarmukhī, they become inverted. In this Kali Yuga, now there are a lot of temptations. And temptation is full of aggressivity, cruelty, and vāsanās, the desires, and tries to fulfill these desires. Sādhana cannot be successful. So those who really search for peace and spirituality within, they will follow the Guruvākyas. It means the words of great saints, Ekand. You sit down and meditate, and you ask your mind and your indriyas, How long will you torture me? Your indriyas are torturing you. Your mind is torturing you. Your vāsanā is torturing you. Kāma, Madha, Lobha, Moha, Ahaṅkāra, Īrṣyā, Avidyā, these are all wild animals. And they will tear you into a thousand pieces. Once I saw in Discovery or in a nature film, it was, I think, in Africa. So the group of lions, a bunch of lions, about 15 or 20. And they came to drink water. And before them, there was a very strong, big, wild pig drinking water. Came hot weather, very hot weather. So the pig was sitting in the water. As soon as he noticed that lions were coming, life is dear to everyone. Doesn’t matter who is who. Humans are animals. No one would like to die. No one would like to have pain. No one would like to be killed. No one would like to suffer. So the pig came out of the water quickly and tried to run away, to escape from the lions. And in that minute, the lions noticed the big pig. They attacked the pig. I tell you, maybe you have seen sometime in that film, within less than half a minute, there was no pig. One way, thanks to God, that he could suffer less than half a minute. But they tore him into so many pieces. It didn’t take them a long time. Therefore, this life is like no time; it is very short. And these are the wild lines: calm, compassion, anger, anger, calm, krodha, moha, attachment, ahaṅkāra, ego. So, ajñāna, the ignorance, īrṣā, jealousy, mada, pride, will tear you away. And therefore, the only way to escape from that is in a state of peace. Though, you are that pig on that beach where there are hundreds of thousands of tourists. And now you see what’s going on. You try to escape, but there is so much temptation. So, that’s how, therefore, you know, for what you came to him. This seminar, you came from a far distance. There is someone sitting from Vancouver. Coming Atlanta, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, there’s also two up from Africa and Indians, entire Europeans are here. Why? If they came so far, they spend the money for what? They could have everyone there in the whole country. Gurudeva Śāradā Tāmarī Cintāmaṇi Rematā Adena. Oh Gurudeva, I seek a shelter to remove my worries. Karake daya, daya loo, be merciful, have mercy, O merciful, please let me bring me on the other side of the sea. So another thing is that Guru Pūrṇimā is today, beginning according to the Jyotiṣa moon calendar and the season, the nature, and these four. Seasons follow the moon phase, the lunar system, and therefore the moon. Jyotish, the moon calendar, the lunar system is actually the right, what you call them, counting of the astrological thing. The moon is constantly changing, and similarly, constantly changing is your constellation according to your... Horoscope, and so every 12 months, the full moon day is called Guru Pūrṇimā. It means the birth date or birth of the great saint Vyāsa, Ved Vyāsa. Vyāsa, who decided to write the Vedas in written form; before, it was only delivered verbally. So, Bhagavad... The Gītā, many Purāṇas, many holy scriptures, and the Vedas were spoken and created by Vedavyāsa. Of course, every Upanishad is created by certain ṛṣis, but within all of them Ved Vyāsa is known as one of the great seers of past, present, and future. Vyāsa, this Pūrṇimā is known also as Vyāsa Pūrṇimā. And because Vyāsa was so great, he was accepted as a guru, a master of all. And it connects every disciple to their master. Hindu religion, Vedic Dharma, is called a living religion. The tradition is a living master and disciple. It’s not only this book, and then it’s finished, nothing else. But Vedic religion, what you may call, like a democracy, democracy in religion, very good, free decision. It is your heart suddenly surrendered to someone. You can, Sanatana Dharma, it is said that you can find God in one stone. This is a small stone, and this stone is universal, immense in energy. When you put it like this, you see Gaṇeśjī. And when you put it this way, you can be Śiva. It can be Hanumānjī. So it means, jāśī dṛṣṭi vāśī sṛṣṭi. How is your vision such that you see the symbol? For your husband, you are the most beautiful woman in the world. And for your husband, for you, your husband is the most beautiful man in the world. And as long as you have this kind of feeling and thinking, you have that beauty towards each other. There is no question of divorce, and when this is lost, Then separation takes place. Ignorance, agyāna, is so strong that even a child cannot keep you together. The child is that mighty power which keeps mother and father together, but your temptation, your ignorance, your proudness, your ego is so dominating that you become blind. That vision is gone, and when vision is gone, then bhakti is gone. And when bhakti is gone, everything is broken. Therefore, Sanātana Dharma in Hindu Dharma says, "Let them believe how they believe." It is said that we don’t convert, we convince. Converting is not the right way. But you convince them that spirituality is therefore freedom. That is called human rights. 80% of human rights points are coming from the Upaniṣads, and some of them are from the Purāṇas, the human rights points. And so, these are the Vedic Dharma. So it means that you have the freedom to love that one that you have. The divine glory in that. It is impossible to change. A drop fell into the ocean; it is impossible for you to take the drop again as it is out. Therefore, carefully decide, and that’s a lifelong decision, not changing. There’s a beauty, but no one promised you to change. You can change, but then change is a copy; it’s not original. So there are many, many things. So Guru Pūrṇimā is a day of the light. So tomorrow is the Pūrṇimā, it is already today in constellation, and tomorrow we will have more lectures and more programs. I pray again to our Siddha Pīṭha to bless us for this Guru Pūrṇimā. That all our negative vichāra, thoughts, may purify, and then during these three weeks there will be beautiful subjects, not only theories, but some particular practices also. So, especially our dear brothers and sisters are with us through webcast; due to some situation, they can’t come, but they will be with us through the webcast. So, decide and know, and be aware of what you came here for. To criticize, you can do that in your house too. To search for a partner, you can find one on your street corner. To gush up, you can do that anywhere, even in your office. For what you came here, I tell you today, and one week after or ten days after when you go back home, you should not feel sorry that you didn’t spend more time for your spiritual practice. And be punctual in every program. No compromise in quality and science. I’ll be the professor. In science, no compromise, and I said in quality and spirituality, no compromise. Broken is broken. You can cry day and night, yes, of course, it is your matter. You can cry, but it will not come back, that broken thing. And if then it comes broken, so don’t break your rules. And I wish you today all the best. And tomorrow, the program begins at 9 o’clock with pūjā, guru pūjā. And here will be the morning prayer. Satguru Āratī here. Morning 5:30. Everybody should come here for prayer and do the pūjā to Mahāprabhujī. Everyone should greet when you come in. And then all will sit here and listen to Guru Gītā. It doesn’t matter if it’s Kriyā Yoga, Anuṣṭhān Yoga, Haṭha Yoga, Karma Yoga, or any yoga. Only yoga, no bhoga. All will listen to Guru Gītā here. It will be in English, but many of you know it by heart in your language, and this. After that, Guru Gītā, then you will go and make āsanas a little bit. Then you will have your tea, and then you prepare yourself for pūjā. If the sun is shining, it’s good weather on the meadow. If not, then here. And those who already came and greeted today, please, tomorrow don’t come, because there will be so many people, then I have to sit whole day on one place. You can come, and you should be part of the satsaṅg. But if you want to give flowers or greet personally, then only those who were not with me today on the meadow. The other program will be announced. So, Guru Pūjā morning will be 5:15, 5:30 here: prayer, Śhāṭguru prayer, Gītā. This is our Guru Pūjā to Mahāprabhujī, and around 9 o’clock in the middle, then webcast will also be there. So, for today, all the best.
